conspiracy.. should have been 3 game minimum.. having watch the game back, i feel like he was trying desperately to get carded... wanted a vacation or something

Thought the same damn thing...Seemed like he was looking for it.

Maybe we're just idiots.

You would think with the financial infrastructure the big teams have, they'd have better scouting so they can identify these players just like these smaller clubs do & get them cheaper.

But that goes into what I've been mentioning here & there. Foreign investment & Russian Oligarch are killing football culture. There just throwing money at buying name brand players (a good portion of these players end up not working out) & not developing their youth programs & scouting network.

At some point, the bubble will burst. Just ask Serie A... They had monsterous TV deals & Serie A had the best football product & no end was in sight.

The Russian economy & the Middle East's isn't doing well so we'll see how they effects these football teams that have such owners.

BTW, it looks like Illarra is blocking a tranfer to Athletic... They're prepared to pay €25 mil but he'd rather stay with Madrid.

Interesting reads on the Illarra situation...

its the business behind it though... no time for people to develop, that's why the smaller teams have no issues with waiting.. Same can be said about managers.

Sky Sports reports that Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor on loan.... DA FUQ :rolleyes

The Daily Express reported Jose Mourinho will seek to add Ramos to his leaky back line.... very doubtful the way their relationship ended

According to a Lazio fan video, Ravel Morrison is in Rome ahead of a free transfer to Lazio.. feel getting away from England might do his career wonders.. could be another Balo tho

Some Italian newspaper had all of twitter going crazy last night, when they broke the story DDG extended till 2020.. .. why an Italian new outlet would have this first, screams BS

I doubted the Ramos rumour when I first heard it but then I remembered about Cesc and Eto'o. Both said they would never play for Mou or Chelsea, both did.

 Diego Godin is out for today's Copa due to yellow card accumulation & Koke, Cristian Ansaldi, & Tiago are out due to injuries...

Interesting stats for games Barca & Atleti have played against each other...

Atletico have never beaten Barça from a goal down
The sides facing off at the Calderón have never taken each other to penalties in 29 two-leg ties in all competitions.

Balance: Atlético and Barça have played each other 29 times over 180 minutes: 20 in the Copa del Rey, three in the now-defunct Copa de la Liga, one in the European Cup and five in the Spanish Supercup. Barcelona have got the better of Atlético on 17 occasions to the Rojiblancos 12. In the Copa del Rey the total is closer but still favours Barça: 11-9.

Comebacks: Atlético has never won a two-leg tie against Barcelona after losing the away leg, despite having 12 attempts at doing so. In the 24 ties between the two when the first leg hasn't ended in a draw, on 22 occasions the team that won the opening leg has taken the overall tie. Only twice has there been a successful comeback: in the Copa del Rey in 1967-68 and Copa de la Liga in 1982-83, when Barça overturned a 1-0 Atlético lead on both occasions.

History: Atlético and Barcelona have played 107 times in Madrid, with 52 wins for the home side, 22 draws and 33 Barça victories. In all 341 goals have been scored, 186 by Atlético and 155 by Barça. Since the inauguration of the Calderón, Atlético have won 27 and Barça 22 with 12 draws.

One in six: Barça has won just one of their last six matches over two-leg ties in the Calderón, in 2008-09. The result was 3-1, with Leo Messi bagging a hat-trick.

More than one goal: In 61 visits to the Calderón Barcelona have lost by more than a single goal just 12 times (19 percent). The last such result was the 4-2 Liga classic in the 2007-08 season. 1-0 to the home side, which will lead to extra time, has been the outcome of seven of those 61 games. Atlético and Barcelona have never gone to penalties against each other in a knock-out tie.

Away goals: Since the advent of the away goals rule in the Copa del Rey in the 1993-94 season, 119 ties have reached the second leg with the score at 1-0 in favour of the visiting side. In 52 of them the home team were eventual winners (43.7 percent), but only five went to penalties, with two home triumphs and three away.

Messi: The Argentinean has scored more goals against Atlético than any other club in his professional career (22 in 24 games). However, Messi has not scored at the Calderón since February 2012; four matches without bulging the Atlético net.

When did eto'o say that? After his inter stint?

After Chelsea played Barca in the 06 CLhe said 'Never will I sign for a team trained by Mourinho. He wrecked things completely with his behaviour surrounding the two games between our sides.
'I insist Barca boss Frank Rijkaard is the better coach despite however many titles the Portuguese has won.'
He added he would rather 'sell groundnuts in my village than to play for a pathetic team like Chelsea'.

I hope Campbell does well... At least he's going to a solid team that's playing good footy though... Can Campbell dribble & pass?

I forgot all about that UCL game. Yeah money changes everything

What in the world is Illaramendi thinking blocking that Bilbao move and staying put? Does he really think he's gonna get any burn in that already crowded world class midfield?

No. But if he's leaving he probably wants to go to a team of his liking. Being an ex-Real Sociedad player I don't think he would've gone to Bilbao. Probably waiting to orchestrate a move back to La Real or Arsenal [don't know how credible this move is]

Yea, to play for the enemy might not be so appealing to him. He def needs to hit the road and leave Madrid, it'd benefit both parties.

Illara tho has issues man, I don't know why any club would pay that amount of money for him in the first place.

Makes sense and most likely true but he says he wants to fight for a spot on the team

. Not sure how well that would work out.

On another note,Costa's been charged by the FA for that stomp. He might be banned a game or two,not even mad. He's been a bit of a loose cannon lately but as long as he's scoring goals I guess it's all good

I forgot that Campbell been loaned out to the likes of Lorient, Real Betis, & Olympiacos...

I wonder if we'll see him play for the Yellow Subs in tomorrow's copa game vs Getafe. Yellow Subs have a narrow 1-0 lead from the first leg but play away tomorrow.

They also play in the EL vs FC Salzburg...
