I hope Cholo can find a way for Raul Jimenez to get in on the action too.

I've been saying that moving to Atletico wasn't a wise move.

Specially considering the workrate of the team, something Jimenez just lacks all the times I've seen Atletico play.

He should have just gone to Porto. With Martinez rumoured departure , he would have gotten plenty of playing time to get used to the new league.

The arrival of Torres put the last nail on the coffin for Raul's playing time...

He wasn't even in the subs in the last atletico match...

Madrid should be open to sell Ronaldo instead of Bale this summer. This will be the most they get for him...only problem is a sufficient replacement.

With Isco progressing and Modric being a magician and Odegaard and Lucas Silva ... James's time at Madrid will not be long.

never happening. ronaldo brings in so much money through jersey sales as well. you just dont sell a player like ronaldo unless he forces his way out or retires.

I'm expecting a close game with City maybe squeaking by late. They've slowly been gaining momentum lately and most of the team is healthy. They showed me enough during their 2 matches against Bayern to believe that they'll provide a tough draw for Barca.

For the other game I'm expecting Juventus to win but with the way BVB seem to have turned things around lately, maybe I'll be mistaken.

It's just such a weird circumstance going into the game tomorrow.

Barca- were on fire, couldn't miss, win 11 straight games then out of no where just lose at home against Malaga. No one expected that.

City- were riding the roller coaster all season, what they have been known for - then they play their best game and win 5-0 Saturday.

I seriously have no clue what's happening tomorrow, but I need to watch.

I hope United's interest in Hummels isn't real. Signing him would be an absolute disaster. Hummel bad play dates back to the year Dortmund made it to the CL final. He had a decent showing in the WC this past summer but his league play has been a stark contrast to the summer. Granted he's been dealing with some injuries but that aside, his play has been awful & a big reason why Dortmund was doing so awful in the first half of the campaign.

I agree w/ him being risky but I also think he hasnt been paired with a pacey CB to make up for him speed.. during the wc he had Boateng. I think if we partner him with a laporte you will see him regain some of that form.. but that pairing is insanely expensive.. that price tag for hummels needs a reality check tho.. especially after this yr! I'm with you though, i think Godin/laporte would be the best option but it doesnt seem like LVG fancies Godin. No clue why not either, dude would be perfect for the EPL

Hummels CB partner is Neven Subotic whose played ok this campaign. The problem with Dortmund's defense is with Hummels & the full backs. Klopp also has them constantly playing a high line & they've been getting punched in the mouth with very quick counters. When he plays, Hummels literally looks like he doesn't feel like chasing someone down. He's also constantly out of position while also making the wrong reads.

I'm interested in seeing the CL game today. Juve hasn't had a good showing in the CL the last several years. Anxious in seeing how Dortmund looks too.

I have no real rooting interest. I guess as a Real fan id like city to win but im just rooting for a good game because it is a pleasure to watch Barca when they are really on

Check out Augsburg's keeper Marwin Hitz scoring in extra time vs Bayer Leverkusen. His team was down 1-2. I'd like to see more keepers involved in set pieces when it's in extra time.

My son's U11 team keeper is always involved during set pieces at the end of close games. It makes it soo fun...

Southampton boss says his fellow Dutchman is not a man manager like himself and the players are too scared to play for Red Devils

Louis van Gaal has been accused of striking fear in his Manchester United players with his demanding and combative style.

Van Gaal’s arch rival, Southampton boss Ronald Koeman, accused his fellow Dutchman of managing with an iron fist and suggested that approach could ultimately be counter-productive at United, who are struggling to secure a top-four spot.

Koeman was Van Gaal’s assistant at Barcelona, before the pair had a major fall-out, with the warring former colleagues who were not on speaking terms now rival bosses in the Premier League.

United suffered a major blow to their hopes of securing a top-four place with Saturday’s shock 2-1 defeat at Swansea, which has put further pressure on Van Gaal.

And Koeman did not hold back in his brutal assessment of Van Gaal’s management style, claiming the 63-year-old generates conflict with his players, which does not always yield positive results.

“When you bring Van Gaal in the house, you bring in quality,” said the Saints boss. “But you also bring in someone who thinks he knows everything. And that will cause clashes.

“There is a big difference between him and and me as managers. I was his assistant at Barcelona after the World Cup in 1998. I learned a lot of things from him.

“But the way he handles his players is totally different from the way I work. I don’t put as much pressure on the shoulder of players.

“When you have Van Gaal in charge, it is a fact that there is fear in his team. The players have a fear for mister Van Gaal. That is not always good.”

Koeman believes Van Gaal’s hard-line approach can only last so long and United will have to appoint a coach with a less abrasive style one his tenure comes to an end.

“After Van Gaal coached the Dutch national team at the World Cup, the Dutch federation had to decide to bring in a manager who would bring in a soft touch,” said Koeman.

“The players needed an arm around their shoulder. A manager who is calmer than Van Gaal.’’

Van Gaal is under contract at United for two more seasons, but his future will come under scrutiny if he cannot deliver an immediate return to the Champions League with a top-four place.

United are still waiting to learn the full extent of the injury Robin van Persie suffered in the defeat at Swansea. The Dutch striker left the Liberty Stadium on crutches and with his right foot in a protective plastic cast following the injury.

Although Van Persie has since discarded the protective boot, the striker is still using crutches to move around and is almost certain to miss United’s Premier League clash with Sunderland at Old Trafford on Saturday.
