I think United fans & others looking for a solution at striker should cross out Lacazette from their wish list. He's already been quoted as saying he's content to stay & Lyon is opening up a new stadium & they need his star power to make sure they fill the seats when Stade des Lumieres opens. If Lyon does sell him, it would have to be for a huge transfer fee however the club president was just quoted earlier this week stating they had no plans to sell him this summer.
We're talking about Lyon though and the one and only Jean Michel Aulas who I personally believe is the greatest club president in modern football.

Another quote from the Lyon president, "Every player at Lyon is absolutely untransferable... until we receive an offer that surpasses what we had reasonably expected."

To be honest I think he's said those exact same words in regards to Lacazette about every player the club has ever sold. I have no idea if Lacazette is worth the fee but if United wants him a hefty money bag will do it.

I think the circumstances are a little different this go around. OL needs star power for their new stadium & revenue from CL play. They have a great youth program but I don't think they have players coming just yet that will help keep them in the top spots to guarantee European competition. That revenue stream is crucial with the new pitch opening up.

I can't see it. Lyon will never need star power the way any other relatively big club in Europe will in part due to the unique football dynamic in the city but that's another topic.

Aulas has firmly instilled the DNA of the club over the course of three decades. They play moneyball and they play it better than any club in the world, possibly better than any sporting organization in the world. Buy young, undervalued, pro ready talent aged 18-22, get good production out of them for a few years and sell at a massive profit.

That's their business model and core revenue stream and it got them 7 titles in 7 years. They've advanced to CL knockout stages regularly since that streak ended. I can't see them changing that even with the new stadium because I'm sure their finances are in order. No way they would have gone through with it if the stadium was gonna cause any kind of financial burden. From a business standpoint the best run club in football.

Good to hear that from him and the owner even tho I'd like to see him in a City shirt. I've followed him loosely last year but I don't blame him for feeling content and wanting to stay at Lyon now considering how well he's played so far and how well the team has been this year. Makes Ligue 1 more than just a one horse race.

Sorry for the double post. Gonna go on a little PSK esque type rant

Was just channel surfing since the Nets v. Suns matchup was not appetizing since my fantasy team fell into oblivion this year. I was trying to find the Galaxy v. Fire MLS debut match but unsurprisingly ESPN isn't televising it. I found a Mexican channel I didn't even know I had and it's showing the Qeretaro v. Guadalajara match. Tuned in and saw Ronaldinho get booked for a yellow card because the ref thought he was simulating. I totally forgot he was in the Mexican league. Thought dude was still in Brazil

Gonna be dope to see him play before I start my night into town. Can't understand a lick of Spanish but Ronaldinho is still much appreciated :pimp:

Walcott won't defend and will leave the right back exposed, hence he hasn't been playing lately

But Ozil often plays on the LW and doesn't defend/track back at all yet starts whenever fit...

The reason Walcott isn't playing is because he spent over a year out of all football and is rusty as hell.

That article touches in some of the things I was saying several pages back. Ozil is not a super star player but he makes a difference on a team if it has talent.

Back ago United. Wilson isn't ready. RVP and Falcao will go. Hopefully a Lacazette will join too....

don't see him going back to united...i see them doing a massive offload this summer especially if they finish top 4...they will have an immense budget being that they will receive the money on top of the players they sell as well as the adidas and Chevy contract. they can easily have 200 million to work with. If they are able to buy bale for 100 million then they let go of Chica, Nani, cleverly, RVP,Mata(possibly), Rafael(Possibly) ...they could come up big

Really don't know anything about this kid...but 60m tho
@PortuBall Carlos Mané getting some well deserved praise in the media today. The 20-year-old winger has bailed out Sporting several times this season.....Speaking of youngsters, hugely talented Matheus Pereira has renewed his contract with Sporting to 2020(€60m RC).

I would agree with you that Ozil doesn't track back but I think there are some differences on our left and right. On the left we have a veteran Left back while on the right you have a rookie. Ozil provides ball control and possession something that Walcott doesn't. All the benefits of Theo can be found in other players who can protect Hector. I also feel that Theo isn't rusty he is cautios on the pitch and in our current fixtures there isn't time to have him shy away from challenges. Saying this I hope he plays Monday night.

I just know that he becomes a beast in Fifa ,haven't really gotten the chance to watch him in action yet.
