Was speaking to a kid in my Calc class who was hoping Messi would go to Man U...........

What are the odds of United signing either of the candidates: Bale, Hummels, Clyne, Depay, Strootman, or De Jong?

i see depay and a bizarro version of hummels coming in in the summer and proabably dani alves who will perform worse than Rafael, mcnair should get more time at right back

also silly season says that lewadowski will leave bayern and join united while falcao goes to madrid in the summer

That'd be great, Can't stand Lewa's face on Bayern. Still very young.

Highly doubt Falcao to Real tho, Think it's just about set in stone that he goes to Italy or stays in Monaco.

Where's the silly season rumors coming from?

Real isn't spending **** on Falcao. Maybe a loan deal, or a loan for another striker like they're doing with Chicha. They're going to stick with Benz, and the summer after use that buyback clause on Morata and bring him back to the Bernabeu.

think this is more based on our odds of Cl footie..which imo dont look to great we still have to play Chelsea, arsenal, city and pool.. :smh:

i cant see LVG staying at united another yr if we dont get CL footie.. not with the type of football he has us playing.

New poll.

I def agree that Isco has to start. But id say over James more then anything for now. If Modric is 100% fit he should play as well. Modric is a work horse type player and in the big games against the more talented sides tracks back on defense better then Isco and James (from what ive seen haven't really watched James play a lot and Ancelloti did make comments about how he was impressed with James defensive work rate...but i love Modric )

Felt bad for Southampton. I thought they deserved a penalty or two. They had a lot of good play and i was impressed with Clyne feasting on Marcovic in the first half. Good change by Rodgers to get him out at half time. Coutinho's goal though..... :x

Hmm Madrid played their best football with the 442 when Bale was injured. Sad Perez is bent on that whole Galactico thing where it hinders the startting XI

Very high.

mcnair should get more time at right back

was voted MOTM at RB against Cambridge in the FA Cup 4th round match but against Swansea he clearly struggled...
Paddy's athletism would be great as a CB but his lack of pace gonna get him burned on a regular basis if he continues in the fullback position...

yea i agree...it all depends on where we fall at the end of the season and just when you think we are on an upswing...reality strikes.

Nani's goal was amazing...honestly i would prefer to have united spend their money on the defense and a true dominant striker, bring Nani back instead of using all(most) of the money for bale/ hummels....I just hope nani would be able to replicate his form. At top form Nani could easily be a top winger in Europe more so EPL. Sorry to see his form dip at United.

OMG, one of the racist b**t*rd* identified in the tube vid in Paris for the PSG vs Chelsea CL match is a director for a human rights org called, World Human Rights Forum... In addition to a lifetime ban from footy matches, I hope the effer loses his job.

Human rights official identified as one of fans involved in Chelsea race storm

(CNN)A human rights official has apologized for his part in an alleged racism incident involving Chelsea supporters on the Paris Metro, but has insisted he is not a racist.

Richard Barklie was one of three men identified by the UK's Metropolitan Police in a video showing what appears to be a group of Chelsea fans preventing a black man from entering a train, following the English club's UEFA Champions League game against Paris Saint Germain last Tuesday.

The group of supporters can be heard chanting on the train: "We're racist, we're racist and that's the way we like it."

A director of the World Human Rights Forum, Barklie has issued a statement through his lawyers admitting his involvement "in an incident when a person now known to him as Souleymane S. was unable to enter a part of the train."

However, the Chelsea season-ticket holder, who was formerly a Royal Ulster Constabulary and Police Service of Northern Ireland officer, denies he participated in the chanting and "condemns any behaviour supporting that."

The statement read: "Pending formal engagement with police our client is anxious to put on record his total abhorrence for racism and any activity associated with it.

"As someone who has spent years working with disadvantaged communities in Africa and India he can point to a C.V. in human rights work which undermines any suggestion he is racist.

"Today a senior official in the World Human Rights Forum confirmed their support for him."

'Sincerest apologies'

The black man who was physically stopped from getting on the Paris Metro, identified as Souleymane S, has said those found guilty should be "locked up."

Barklie offered his "sincerest apologies for the trauma and stress suffered by Mr Souleymane," while saying he "has an account to give to police which will explain the context and circumstances" of the incident.

The statement went on to explain that the 50-year-old Barklie has traveled to Chelsea matches for over 20 years "without incident" and that he traveled alone to Paris for the UEFA Champions League clash.

Barklie -- whose image was released by the Metropolitan Police along with two others -- insists he "has no knowledge whatsoever" of the identities of the other people seen in the video footage of the incident.

The statement added that the Metropolitan Police have said arrangements are in hand "to take the investigation to the next stage."

Chelsea condemnation

Chelsea confirmed Friday that it had suspended five people from attending games at its Stamford Bridge stadium and has apologized to the victim.

A club spokesperson also said that owner Roman Abramovich was "disgusted" by the incident, while manager Jose Mourinho said he was "ashamed."

Mourinho invited Souleymane S. to attend the return match against Paris Saint Germain at Stamford Bridge, while at Chelsea's English Premier League home match against Burnley Saturday -- its first game since last week's incident -- fans were seen holding banners reading: "Black or white, we are all blue" and "No racism at the Bridge. That's the way we like it."

Former Chelsea player Paul Elliott, a member of the English Football Association's Inclusion Advisory Board, has welcomed the positive response in the UK to what happened.

"In 21st-Century, multi-racial Britain, sport is the catalyst and the key that engages and unites. For me it's the most potent weapon for breaking down barriers," Elliott said at the British Ethnic Diversity Sports Awards.

"The response to the Paris Metro incident has been so uplifting. Society has self-policed it, in the sense that it is so obviously unacceptable to people in the 21st Century."

Oh Modric is playing in the XI, there is no doubt son.

When Modric and Isco have played in the midfield together I don't think they lost this whole year (could be wrong). But even looking ahead to when Modric comes back I wouldn't want to be the defenders trying to press Modric & Isco in the midfield. You won't be able to get the ball away from these guys - esp in a 4-3-3.

As for Bale, he played okay yesterday but I can't remember the last time this dude scored. Ronaldo at least had an excuse for not scoring in a while (he was suspended) but Bale should have a couple goals on the stat sheet, esp during the time Ronaldo was out. His stock hasn't risen at all, he needs to pick it up if he wants to continue enjoying the sunshine, or else it's back to cloudy England (most of the United fans in here would be happy, so that's good).

When James comes back tho, don't be surprised if he takes Bales spot at RW. While at Porto I thought James played better at RW than he did at the midfield position when we had Guarin and Moutinho in the middle. He's extremely capable and comfortable in that position. I wouldn't know who to pick between him and Bale but I do know that Bale needs to step it up, quick.

Chelsea sell Thorgan to Gladbach, but included a buy-back clause in the deal. No word on the fee.

So disappointing with CFC's result. At least, we managed to get a point. The birthday boy Ivanovic has been our fantastic goal scoring machine in last six games (4 total). I wish Thorgan well. I think it's the right decision for him even though I want to see the Hazard brothers playing together on the pitch for the Blues.

According to some RM "affiliate" twitter accounts, when Luka and James returns Isco is going to be benched...

Madrid should be open to sell Ronaldo instead of Bale this summer. This will be the most they get for him...only problem is a sufficient replacement.

With Isco progressing and Modric being a magician and Odegaard and Lucas Silva ... James's time at Madrid will not be long.

It's virtually impossible for anyone else to replicate 50 goals a year constantly. James scores more when in the RW/LW role. Bale disappears sometimes and doesn't do well in tight spaces. Benz is a little reserved for a No.9. They basically would have to reconstruct their forward line if they sold Ronnie. Not gonna happen tho.

Yea very true but at the same time its Madrid. They buy stars so either way Ronaldo will leave and they will still have too replace him and if they wait too long they will have to replace more than just him. Nobody retires at Madrid last person who came close is Raul. And the closest who is Casillas isn't even going to retire there. They love money so Ronaldo can leave with the right price. It won't be easy but very possible.
