Jordan Henderson contract stand-off puts Chelsea on alert as he rejects an £80,000 a week offer (telegraph.co.uk)

Life seems to be getting harder and harder for Pool.

:smokin

Liverpool was right on the brink of at least being respectable again too. Better cash in on Sterling now and just buy some young up and coming prospects that can grow together.

Wonder if Jordan Henderson is going to look like a money grabbing **** in the English media like they portrayed Sterling out to be.....

You know they don't touch their white boys... If smokey at Arsenal were black, he would be crucified in the press.

First thing I thought about the negative media portrayal of Sterling was that it amounted to a media lynching of the kid.

I mean the kid said the right things. He wants to win more than making money. What's wrong with that. I don't like how Liverpool is handling this at all because in the process, they have vilified Sterling.

It's funny how there isn't a hint of that with Henderson. :rolleyes

The issue is they keep publicly throwing out offers to Sterling and he keeps rejecting them. Whereas with Henderson, Liverpool put out an offer, Henders team rejected it and let them know they will deal with the contract negotiations come summer time. Liverpool is trying to use the media to paint in him like a money grubbing **** and force him to sign some low ball offer. Now there are rumors that Henderson is seeking 100k per week. If he is getting 100k, Sterling should get about 120. They need to pay him or keep it pushing. Causing they are paying other fools who aren't doing squat ie Lovren.

 I feel the same way about the new Gunner kits

Dead at the bolded part

Yea I hope Raheem signs with another EPL club just to spite the Reds after trying to paint him as a selfish money grabber. You even have former players like Carragher calling the way he's handled things a disgrace  :rolleyes.

 damn, I was still going to be subtle about the difference between both players. But you came out the gates hitting the nail on the head .

If Jordan Henderson gets 100k a week, Sterling should be paid £1 Million per week....

What was the nice thing I said about the EPL? No Porto party yet, they haven't played Bayern yet :frown:

I mean seriously, I know he gets a littlev crap for his punditry, but if Michael Owens was black saying the things he says can you imagine how vilified he would be? It would be soo much worse. I still can't understand why he even has a job unless their keeping him for entertainment value the way espn keeps bayless & steve smith.

Look at Joey Barton, he gets so many passes it's not even funny. :smh:

Raheem comes along, does an interview saying he is placing winning trophies over making money which is what you want to hear from your pro athletes & he gets soooo much bad press across the board.

Raheem is as good as gone. Liverpool has handled this all wrong & the funny thing is, I don't even think they realize it.

Sterling should get paid, but dude needs to be a bit more consistent and work on his game a bit more. The potential in him though. It's also good to see a Jamaican player on the big stages being sought after by many big clubs(Out of . It would be nice to see him stay at Liverpool, but if they are fooling around I wouldn't be mad at him going elsewhere to get his money and win.

^ Consistent? Liverpool has been running him ragged. He's been the only player on that side to play balls out every game. Rogers has everyone playing out of their preferred position & things aren't gelling...

Don't fall for the media talking about Raheem not being consistent. He might've been the only playing that played with any heart vs Arsenal.

I feel some kind of way about picking Hazard in the poll but I would've felt worse picking Costa :x

I agree with all of this, but there are times where Sterling drifts in and out of games.

Yeah, I gotta disagree with you here.

And agree with you. Sterling is consistent but the problem is that he's not a solo kind of player. He's not that Suarez who will take it from midfield and do everything his damn self like a single parent. The reality with Sterling is that his style of play is bursts of speed, running into situations, and that style needs support from other players. I'll be the first to admit he needs to work on his finishing. But his workrate is up there, and Liverpool were running him into the ground. If he had a better supporting cast, he would have even better performances on top of his solid work rate.

tomdiginson tomdiginson - That's because the entire opposing defenses are keyed up on Raheem because he's the only threat on the attack.. No one else has stepped up to provide another consistent player on the attack.

Rogers really has to start playing guys he hasn't been playing & also returning players into their more preferred roles. I think that's half of the problem.

I read that Michael Owen has said some absurd things but I can't recall what they are, I also read that he's a terrible pundit - can anyone supply us with any videos, please?

It's pretty obvious that there's a double standard between the Sterling situation and the Henderson one. If I was Sterling, I would think about leaving because I'd be upset about how this was handled by Liverpool and the army of media influence they have. It's getting disrespectful.

I agree with everything you said. Now that I think about it, during our losing stretch late last year, they were expecting him to create chances and score goals while the defense was giving up some silly goals. :smh:

I agree with everything you've said except no one else stepping up attack wise. Sturridge has been good as well(when he is not injured ).
