Kimchi Papi Kimchi Papi united-Otamendi rumors doing the rounds again... is he worth it?

I like him over Hummels. Otamendi has been in great form this campaign for Valencia but I think Lim will resist selling him. I think his plan is to start making CL appearances regularly & sellinig Otamendi would counter that.

I like the physical way Otamendi plays. Loves to tackle, clears the ball well, good in the air... Basically everything you want in a CB. He's not too short either at 6'.

Do you think you guys need full backs more or CBs?

Edit - If Valencia don't qualify for the CL, then you might see more willingness to sell. If United were smart though, I'd target whoever Valencia would target if they lost Otamendi... :rolleyes

We're really gunna compare relegation zone teams of respective leagues in hypothetical scenarios to determine which league is better

How about the top level in the CL

the 2nd tier in Europa

The only way it seems like La Liga teams are getting bounced from these tourneys is when they play each other and 1 inevitably has to go

Dudes also act like this wasn't historic for Madrid and it's a normal result

Also, a lot of bottom teams come to actually play when they set foot in the Bernabeu and Camp Nou, which makes the game more open, and leaves them more susceptible for an *** whooping.

And as for rooting for Bale, why would Madrid fans not want to root for a player that had 100 Ms dropped for his transfer? We hope he has more performances like he had today, just in the CL and against the top teams.

That's something many people are wondering, since Bale has been booed and jeered various times by his own "fans".
The Bernabeu has some of the most difficult to please fans in the world. The Knicks have sucked for an eternity and when they play like trash and heartlessly they get booed deservedly too. Doesn't make the fans any less of die hards.

These aren't children that you give nonstop positive reenforcement too. They're grown *** men that people pay hard-earned money for the ridiculous salaries of these players and take their families to see their heroes and be entertained by. And people know that he's capable of beasting. So when he's throwing off the flow of the team and doing something like this then he deserves to hear it. (I know almost everyone on real sucked in that match but its just an example.)
So basically, when a player has a bad game or a dip in form, he's boo'd and jeered? Because the fans spend their hard earned money to go watch their heros?
That's ridiculous. Madrid fans were disgusting, as are any fan who decides to boo their own team with the slightest dip in form (see United under the Moyes era), it's simply unnecessary and tacky. To make it worse, Madrid are still in the race to win the CL and La Liga. People are expecting the players to never EVER have a bad day on the field?

As for players "ridiculous" salaries, I don't think they're ridiculous for one second. The players are what make the game. The game is watched by hundreds of millions of people in which billions of pounds or dollars are pumped into the game (hell, the new EPL TV deal is something like 5b pounds). If they're the basis for the entertainment that people enjoy, why shouldn't they be paid a lot of money? If you wrote a book that hundreds of millions of people wanted to read and enjoy, why shouldn't you be paid millions for it?
A bad game? As in one? Slightest dip in form?

Dude's link up play has been non-existent and he's looked like he doesn't fit in the attack for many matches in the current campaign. Add to that, Real's most beautiful football was being played when he was missing matches and both Isco and James were out there together working their magic.

Real still being in the running for a double has nothing to do with Bale

And I never said that players don't deserve their salaries so relax b. The implication was that the people that are booing them are part of those paying their salary. However small a fraction it is.

When you have world class talent and you ink the contract of a world class player, certain responsibilities and pressures rightfully come along with it, and you gotta bring it and perform at a world class level more often than not.

I'm genuinely wondering now where Charlie Austin will end up...Another CRUCIAL goal...

I'm hearing whispers of Southampton being interested.

personally we need another CB first then a real RB. In an ideal world we could bring in a player like Hummels (prefer Godin), Laporte (let him develop) and Clyne but the price tags make that impossible.. I can also see trying to get alves on a free instead of Clyne but rumors saying barca will extend him..

Otamendi sounds perfect for the EPL.. yeah i read the transfer hinges on UCL footie

If Pogba comes to Chelsea I think Mou is pairing him with Matic, probably play as the CAM every now and then depending on who is still here.

Bale still playing scapegoat :nerd: ... acting like half that team doesn't float in and out of games.. :smh:

flyeed flyeed The point I'm making is that, Bale had a dip in form. Players should be allowed to have a dip in form especially when arriving at a new city, new club new system etc (see Di Maria...notice there's no boo's....in fact...look at Falcao...notice how the fans treat him and they have EVERY SINGLE REASON to jeer Falcao). Madrid fans were acting like he's had a Torres at Chelsea season.

The point I'm making about Madrid still being in for the double is that it's not like his dip in form is costing the team trophies.

Anyway, all in all, the point is Madrid fans need to exercise patience and stop throwing their toys out of the cot because their newest star is misfiring at first (even if he's the most expensive signing).

If I were Barca's sporting director, I would've bought Otamendi & La Real's Inigo Martinez. As it stands, Barca ended up buying Benjamin Button & Elijah Price (from Unbreakable - Vermaelen). I read though neither club wanted to sell either CB though. :rolleyes

Not referring to @]Flyeed[/@], but Madridistas have never been known to be patient (as most football fans too).
