Wait a second. I thought Parma FC went bankrupt and automatically got relegated. Therefore they had to forfeit every remaining fixture this season.

nah they got funds from Serie A/Italy to cover expenses for the rest of the season (gameday operations, players paychecks, etc) and they will play out the rest of the season.

And will then be automatically relegated.

No clue about Muto. Suppose it's a marketing move? I am fine with the move as long as that move doesn't take Bamford's spot away.

^ Under the new rules by the English FA, Muto will most likely not be able to get a work permit... He's a non EU player & doesn't fit the criteria outlined by the new racist policy.

I wonder if the new Yokohama sponsorship had anything to do with this rumor?

Edit - I'd rather see him go to Bundesliga. I think he'd excel there.

On the subject of minority coaches in European football,former Les Blues legend Lillian Thuram had some interesting comments on the impact that societal stereotypes have had to explain the lack of minorities in managerial positions.

The France legend has criticized the way minorities are treated in Europe and thinks stereotypes are holding back non-white coaches

Former France international Lilian Thuram believes racial stereotypes are still preventing black coaches from getting top jobs in football.

There are very few non-white coaches at the top level throughout the major European leagues, despite there being an increasing ratio of black players fielded by the same teams.

Ex-Juventus and Barcelona defender Thuram is disappointed at the lack of progress in recent years and claims people within the game "doubt what black people can do".

"No, of course there's not a misrepresentation of black people in French clubs," he said with sarcasm toL'Equipe.

"It is quite normal that there are lots of black people who are players because they can be top athletes, they have the physical capability. But to be a coach you need intelligence and discipline...

"It is clear that society has that opinion. Since I was a child I was told 'to be a coach you need to be able to come up with tactics'. There are people who doubt what black people can do.

"On the field, all is well. But the rest – coaches, executives, etc – it's more complicated because society has these strong prejudices. When people doubt the intelligence of an ethnicity, it makes some

positions unavailable.

"If you're a black player or of North African ethnicity, you're not stupid. If you see that there are not many coaches who are like you, you're not going to be encouraged down that path.

"You're definitely going to have trouble if you do want to go down that path, though. From the start, you're discouraged. It takes references from others to make it possible, then you can project yourself."

When asked if a lack of references from others was why Thuram has refrained from going down the path of becoming a coach when he hung up his boots in 2008, he said he knew it was not the job for him.

"I would have been an awful coach," he conceded. "I would not have been forgiving at all, especially with the big name players."

Thuram thinks some progress has been made on the pitch for black players but is concerned that positions of power remain out of reach.

"When I was younger, it was said that black players couldn't play in defence – they were strong but they still made mistakes," he added.

"Or goalkeepers – 'black goalkeepers are super strong and agile but they have no concentration', that's what people thought.

"There are a lot of non-white players, but how can it be explained that on the benches there are still not many non-white coaches? It's a problem and it must change.

"However, we must be careful when changing the status quo. Some people do not necessarily want to change anything because it would mean they are less likely to get a job in future. And that's racism.

"Initiatives to guarantee non-white coaches a chance at being interviewed for vacant jobs are a step in the right direction. But there is still an awful lot of work to do to get to parity between races."

Some of these stereotypes that are still prevalent are appalling,it's 2015 and there's still the ignorant belief that more melanin = less intelligence?

I feel like they'd probably need to implement something that's equivalent to the NFL's Rooney Rule to even have a shot at changing things at this point. The Rooney Rule is a rule that requires NFL teams to interview minority candidates for coaching and front office positions.

Racism in Umerica is pretty bad, but Europe is waaay worse. Its downright hostile over there (at least when I went).

Man, I used to love watching Lilian Thuram play whether it was Juve, Barca, or Les Bleus.

For as much racism that still goes on in the States,they've come a much longer way than Europe has in that regard imo. There's still much work to be done there. You're right about the hostility at times,I'll always remember being verbally abused along with some family members when I was younger in Paris. That was probably one of the first times I had experienced blatant racism irl. I've also heard some pretty disheartening stories from different family members/friends living in Europe 

Lillian Thuram will always be a legend in my book,one of the few Barca players I've always loved and respected. Great player on the pitch and a class guy off it for all his charity and awareness work for Sickle Cell Anemia. Shame his career had to end prematurely.

As he was checking in, the concierge had the nerve to mention the hotel doesn't provide Chinese or Asian cuisine. My cousin, who was with him was like WTF this ************ just say to us?!?!

My cousin wanted to fight the dude in the lobby, but my uncle who has US & Korean diplomatic credentials handled it on a executive level.

The problem is, even at the level of upper management, they wouldn't understand how that was offensive because culturally in Italy, that's acceptable. They don't see it as wrong.

My cousin did tell ol dude to such an egg roll... My uncle wouldn't let him touch dude & was even mad for saying that much...

Here's the thing about Europe (and the rest of the world) tho compared to the America's - they've been a race amongst themselves for thousands of years.

America is an extremely multicultural and multi-ethnic place, has been for hundreds of years. The civil rights movement also helped forward the progression - Europe hasn't had anything like that to compare with - their just aren't enough minorities to have that type of progressive movement. So of course they're way behind America, the whole world, every continent is behind America's when it comes to race relations.

It's going to be like that for a long time, without more minorities or a movement the only thing that helps is education. Amongst the educated that type of racial **** does not happen.

Saw the one for Ajax. They basically dominated Europe when Cruyff was in his prime.
