I don't think he's inconsistent because of a run in bad form but due to either playing with injury or coming back from injury.
As for the current campaign where he had trouble scoring goals earlier, it doesn't help he doesn't get proper service, that he gets pretty much man marked being the only consistent threat, & generally having crap team around him.
I'd love to see him at a club that has a better team around him. I think the facts show he always plays pretty well against the top end teams too (pretty sure).
Hindsight is always 20/20 but I think I'm on record as saying Liverpool was stupid for buying Lambert & Balo. They should've pulled those monetary resources (along with a lil more) & bought Benteke. He proly would've solved a lot of problems Pool had this campaign when Sturridge was out.

Racist? Nah, doesn't remotely fit the definition of the word.
Although I disagree with the notion, it would be fairer to say this was a reach.
It's a valid question to ask given the racial climate in Europe particularly in England. I say that because of the racist/xenophobic policy the english fa wants to institute. I can't believe there isn't a bigger uproar over the change the fa is making.

If Bentenke doesn't rupture his achilles and instead finishes the 2013/14 season, goes on to knock in a goal or two with Belgium en route to the WC quarter finals, he would have been playing CL football this season.

The EPL isn't even as close to being as racist as other leagues in Europe. If Benteke never tore his leg up and continued to score 20 plus goals of course he would have been picked up by a top English team. Chelsea, Arsenal, City, and United aren't saying to themselves "Na, we're not taking him because he's black" - they take more non-English player's than anyone. Look at Chelsea right now, they barely have any Englishmen.
As for what the FA is doing in the future, that's a different issue - but it has nothing to do with Benteke not playing for a top team yet.

My question about Benteke aside, I think it's wrong to say the Prem is less racist than other leagues, I mean the rule change about non EU players spells it out. I think if you were to pull back the curtain, you would see attitudes like those of Malky Mackay are more common than you would think (especially at the upper levels of clubs).
As for Benteke, I don't know for sure if racism is to blame for him not being at a bigger club or not but it was worth asking/discussing. Injury or not, he should be at a bigger club.

Why is Liverpool no longer regarded as one of the top clubs? What happened for Memphis to refer to them as a "tiny club"? They are rich in history, but yet you all talk of them like that will always be a thing of the past.

The guy didn't even make the WC squad because of his injury. Was the belgian coach racist?
All of suddent he's fit again and scoring and one of the reason, first time i've heard it actually, him being at Villa still is due to EPL clubs being racist...

too many to list, bad finances, terrible domestic record, management overturn. But the obvious is Liverpool sells their players to bigger clubs and than returns buys back lesser quality and cheaper players to replace them unlike a Real or Barca. Suarez-Mario, Torres-Carroll. And if they need quality, they have to overpay like the failed bid for Sanchez, Jordan Henderson, Lallana, Johnson.

I had this entire reply typed out and then saw your post... took the words right out my mouth. Benteke has to prove his form over an entire yr.. not just these spurts... Selling a player within the EPL is like buying an English player.. your ALWAYS gonna overpay, because they are "proven". I don't blame clubs for paying a lesser price tag for a foreign striker with almost the exact amount of risk
