Only way to get better is for the Timbers to actually win a game.

You can sign a contract almost any time of the year you like with a player/club, but the contract is only submitted and activated during the TW window. So some teams like to get started early.

The only reason you don't find signings randomly happening in March or October is because players need to focus on their current responsibilities.

RELEASED: Brian Murphy, Richard Dunne, Rio Ferdinand, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Joey Barton and Bobby Zamora have all departed from Loftus Road in the aftermath of the club’s return to the Championship after just one season back in the top flight.
