Was expecting to come in here this morning and seeing gifs of Danny Welbeck whiffing that karate chop attempt from our friends in the eastern hemisphere. This dude Welbeck

With all due respect, only West Brom & Burnley today, eh?

Dude I thought the same thing. No idea why the EPL didn't save the United game for today knowing that they didn't have to play in any Euro competitions.

I got to chill and not be so critical of Jackson Martinez. I give him a lot of ****, I'm real tough on him - but things could be a lot worse, I could have Welback on the team :x

Best joke I've read all week...

Manuel Pellegrini "I am absolutely sure that Manchester City will eventually win the Champions League," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports. "Of course, it is not the most important title to win but when it happens -- and it will -- it will not mean that this project is finished.

Boy, this guy Manuel Pellegrini sure is funny man. Who knew?

That has to be a misquote saying it's not the most important title. It doesn't make sense nor does it fit with the context of his next sentence.

Did you sleep for the entire day yesterday and just wake up now? they played yesterday haha

I played til like 2am? tried to wake up before 7 to catch it since im on pst. made it to like the 20th min and knocked back out

Right? He's trying to make believe the expectations are low and it's not important. He's thinks he's smart enough to Jedi-mind **** the City owners who by this point only care about the Champions league trophy.

Dude is wacked out of his mind, pellegrino

Every single weekend the EPL puts a better product out there then the NFL.  I was watching premier league Goal Zone sunday at 1 then realized oh wait there is American Football on.

The Everton Liverpool match was fantastic.  Balo seems like he is slowly getting more used to the EPL.  He turns the ball over too much still for me.  There are times where he can just make the easy pass and he tries too much.  The finish by Jagielka.....i don't even know what to see.  Jumped right off my couch and got goose bumps

Rooney

you are 29 years old now fam (i think?) what are you doing.  You are the captain of the english national team.....

Was really hoping they would end up drawing that match just because of what rooney did, at least mata will get some playing time now

Good to see Tottenham out there showing a pulse.  I feel like Erikson sometimes disappears from games.  He is too good and vital to that team to do that.

Chelsea at it again...they look good

Glad City pulled out the 3 points.  Dzeko is in great form right now.

^Bruhh, I have the same feels. I get more pumped on certain Saturday mornings watching the BPL than College Game day. I don't know if its a good thing or not...but soccer has slowly becoming more enjoyable than football. Maybe its because I get tired out from watching soccer all morning and by the time college ball is on I'm just tired of watching sports

But on Pelligrini though I rather have my manager be optimistic. I mean its not like he said we're winning this year. He said eventually so he's not trying to reach.

He almost took a Malaga team to the Semi's only stopped by 2 miracle stoppage time goals by Dortmund a few years ago. He's had previous success in the UCL so I got faith in the man.

Last year was pretty rough. Bayern in the group stages and then Barca in the round of 16. If he can't go farther this year with a better team than yeah, I can see the backlash but its only his second year.

I do think City will win the Champions League at some point unfortunately, Although it won't be for a good few years yet and that is only if the owners keep putting money in the club.

In regards to Rooney, In a way im not bothered that he is now banned for 3 games, Now we can get Mata and Januzaj some gametime and prove what they can do, Falcao played well on Saturday too and just needs that 1 goal to get going, Hopefully it will be vs Everton this weekend coming

Question for you American watchers, In regards to the EPL coverage, what is the viewing averages like for the EPL, Is it good or slowly improving? Just curious because it seemed that everyone got into Soccer during the World Cup

It's doing quite well, think each match averages half a million fans. Towards a million for big matches. That's way better than it was just a few years ago. A lot if has to do with the fact is much more accesible now on NBC.

I think it'd do much better tho if the EPL started playing games later so it could accommodate the US fans. Most of the EPL games are broadcasted extremly earlier in the morning, sometimes you want to watch a game but you def arent trying not to wake up at 7am on a Saturday to do so. La Liga has some great times here in the States since they play so late in Spain.

Let me ask you this tho, would the EPL ever consider playing more night games? Or is that not an option since so much of its tradition is playing in the sun? How the EPL does MNF is great, wish they do night games on Sayurday and Sunday too.

To compare, the nfl brought apprx 17 million viewers per game. Each Prem game got an average of about a little over a million viewers per game. I think NBC ended up pulling over 30 million viewers total over the course of their debut season broadcasting the league. I think I read somewhere they tripled the audience fox had. All in all it was a solid debut.

NBC did a fantastic job in their coverage & will continue to do so this year. They will be able to build upon the interest the WC brought. I also like that they adding additional footy related programming like Men In Blazers will help draw more viewers in.

I don't think the EPL would ever switch the times for matches. Yes making the games later might increase American viewership but it will destroy their local viewership along with the rest of Europe, Asia, n Africa

PSG squad to face Barcelona announced. No Ibrahimovic, no Thiago Silva, no Lavezzi - all injured. Major test for Blanc's side.

welp :nerd:

Drogba didn't travel to Portugal, so it's either Costa or Remy (if Jose isn't going to push Costa's hamstring).

Could really use the 3 points there.
