Ozil WILL pick it up. I truly believe it. He has too much quality for him to continue to being this sub par version of himself. He will never have the workrate that everyone wishes he had, but he still is pure class technically and he will re discover his deadly final ball sooner than later. My main gripe still is that Arsene continues to play him out of position. Put him in the #10, push Ramsey farther down into a double pivot with Arteta. Drop Wilshere for Ox or Santi on the wing.

Can't drop the goldenboy Wilshire, no way. 1) He's English. 2) He's been playing well lately. But you can't play Ozil out of position either thats why I made the poll.

Just get rid of him.

That Özil situation reminds me of a young Samurai that United signed who struggled to fit other roles in when his position was stacked.

We all saw how that ended....doubt he'd be sold though...

Ozil is lazy, plain and simple. I thought Madrid were crazy to sell him but I think we can all see why

Özil's confidence is just extra low. One of his bestgames was last in CL competition when he was played wide. He also plays out wide for Germany. He has a free role. Out wide may not play to all his strengths but I don't think that's just the issue. A crowded midfield certainly doesn't help

Missed everything yesterday. Just caught up on a bunch of the goals, tho.

Might miss today, too. But might find a way to catch a bit of Chelsea/Schalke. Speaking of which, Schalke will be starting two young 18 y/o CBs due to injury. If he wasn't already, pretty sure Mou will rest at least half the squad in prep for City this weekend.

:smh:

I'm genuinely wondering how long Pardew can stick around at this club...

I've seen folks online callin for Moyes to take the job.

Yeah Pardew isn't the problem, it's Ashley. He runs that club exactly the way it's performing now. If the supporters think someone is going to come in & do better, that's laughable. Any manager candidate has to also be stupid for taking the job eif they expect results any different than what Pardew is getting... It is what it is... :rolleyes

Never realized how many La Liga players & the Spanish influence on Olympiacos... No wonder they're doing reasonably well in European competition... :rolleyes

The Korean U16 side won 7-1 in the semi final against Syria in the Asian championships behind a yeoman like effort by Lee Seung Woo who had 1 goal & 4 assists... :smokin

Modric really showed well yesterday.  His work rate always impresses me and he really does everything in the midfield, seems like one of those guys that you would love to play with, smart, works hard, incredibly talented.

Real's defense still looked extremely porous

The only other game i got to catch was Dortmund and Arsenal.  And for some reason Dortmund just looked soooo much faster then Arsenal.  The ball movement the individual speed....just faster all around.

Always said, he's one of the best in the world at what he does. He doesn't get the shine of the assists or the goals, but he's often the man before the assist. Regularly dictates the tempo of the match, and his distribution is great.

 modric is nice

Can't decide whether to watch Bayern/City or Chelsea/Schalke...

Not a fan of any of those teams, just a fan of good football.

Bayern - City is a no brainer for me , 2 of the deepest and most talented teams in Europe battling it out sounds has all the makings of a good game.

Only one screen at work, broski.

Bayern/City it is...hopefully I won't miss too many Fab-to-Costa goals.

I'm pretty sure they are replaying both games later tonight so pick your main event and close the night with the one you couldn't catch.

The weird and wacky rumor of the day is that Casillas might be headed to Arsenal in January . Hope it's true for Navas' sake.

Madridistas are apparently clamoring for Rafa to take over for Carlo... As a Barca stan, I hope this happens...

So the English FA Chairman really wants to get rid of "foriegn" players huh? :smh: I guess he thinks that's hurting English football...

- slash the amount of players in the Premier League from non-EU countries by a massive 50%.
- Eliminate players from "non-European Union countries" from the lower leagues.
- Restrict visa applicants to those in the top 70 FIFA-ranked countries.
- Institute a minimum transfer fee (thought to be between $16-24 million)

These new restrictions would severly hamper US players playing in the Prem & lower leagues...

I just don't have the words...

:x :smh:

“The Men in Blazers Show” set for kick off on NBCSN
Joe Prince-Wright Sep 17, 2014, 10:05 AM EDT

“The Men In Blazers Show” is here.

On Monday, September 22 at 10 p.m. ET the new television program from MiB will debut on NBCSN.

Details were released on Wednesday, as the show will be beamed out of the Men In Blazers studio in SoHo, New York City, every Monday night at 10 p.m. ET on NBCSN throughout the Premier League season.

The new show will also stream live on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports Live Extra app.

British duo Michael Davies and Roger Bennett are, of course, the Men in Blazers and they had the following to say about the new show.

We are aiming to make the least technically ambitious show in the history of television,” Michael Davies said. “One camera. One guest. Two bald blokes. We may or may not have clips.”

“We are honored to have the chance to commune with Americans about football on such a sacred day,” Roger Bennett added. “As the saying goes, ‘Week after week, it’s the time that is right. All my rowdy friends are here on Monday night.

If this new show doesn’t satisfy your MiB fix, don’t fret, we have a special, digital-only, weekly podcast on NBCSports.com each Tuesday. Plus, weekly digital-only Men in Blazers’ previews of the upcoming Premier League matches will be released each Friday.

Make sure you see all the highlights from the weekly show and their full podcasts on NBCSports.com, plus the videos will be distributed on the web and via mobile devices through ProSoccerTalk, and various content alliance partners.

As Rog and Davo say best, it’s time to ‘”size the day.”
