I know I'm late, but forgot to post this yd  :

Carlo da Gawd making the pivotal formation change for the Decima campaign, and doing it yet again this season :pimp:

No Bale or Di Maria for that matter, no problem. Isco looks faster and fitter than last season, and looks to be almost filling in a Di Maria type role with his 2-way play and work rate.

Both James and Isco's help defending was stellar

I take back the Carvajal slander. Dude grew up this match and hopefully can take this kind of big match play on the road. He was outstanding.

Called Real was going to score 4, only down side of the match is that they should have been more clinical in their counter and gotten at least one more.

Gotta give Carlo props again. We all thought this roster was flawed, but he's showing why he's the Don. Dudes demeanor and ability to stay the course is boss.

Even if Messi scored that second against the run of play, Real looked like they weren't going to be stopped tonight.

Over this era for Barca, offense and possession has often times been their best form of defense. That one shot aside, Mathieu looked like an offensive liability at LB, and like they were missing Jordi Alba.

I didn't get to see the game sadly but not bad at all on Man United's behalf...managed to walk away with the draw against the better squad.

Mourinho needs to learn to STOP with settling with these goddamn 1-0 scores. Or else ish like this happens...you went out and acquired the additional players you needed for a reason, don't counteract that with this absolutely unnecessary "safe" approach. It's eventually going to cost us in an even bigger situation.

Great point... Makes me feel like we can get something from this city game

Must be said ADM was double marked most the game, but was wasteful as well. Adnan continues to go for glory instead of passing. Mata was also disappointing. Blind and fellaini put in shifts, kept fabregas from impacting the game.

Couldn't post this weekend as my son's team finished their fall campaign this weekend. Won both games. My son notched a goal & 2 stellar assists. Won't know how the season shakes out because we're finished our games but there a few teams playing their last games next weekend. As it stands, we're 2nd in the Saturday league & 3 in the Sunday league. We'll cap the fall season with 2 more tournaments next weekend which will lead right into indoor season & futsal.

Can't say I'm surprised with the result of the Classico. I was disappointed that Enrique started Xavi in place of Rakitic. Barca's defense also suffered with personnel shuffled by putting Benjamin Button at LB which didn't work at all. he looked lost back there.

Busquets had an awful game. I really think Enrique needs to split time with Masch in his natural role. Don Iniesta hasn't had a good start to his campaign either. Don't get me wrong he's had some moments of brilliance here & there but as a whole his play has been meh... I just didn't like the old *** line-up Enrique put out there on the pitch. It didn't work.

Random thoughts- Hannibal looked all right despite the long lay off. Isco is really coming into his own, too bad he had to show out in the Classico... Zubi & Co threw away money buying Vermaelen & Benjamin Buttononly to put out Masch & Pique... :smh: Masch did ok here & there but he got abused by Benz...

Wild finish to the Seattle vs LA Galaxy game for the Supporter's Shield.

Weekend thoughts:

I guess West ham are good?

Real looked determined. Modric

The Chelsea Man U game was interesting.  I thought starting Drogba was the right call his header was fantastic.  But Man U really didn't play that well and still got a draw.  I thought Mata was invisible for a lot of the game.  Young Adnan looked sluggish Di Maria was sloppy in possession.  Great game though by Rafael.  That dude is insanely fit and works so hard.  Thought Blind and Fellani showed up too.

It was strange seeing Man U and especially RVP celebrate like they had won the game.  Years prior he would have grabbed the ball out of the net and ran it to midfield to go for the win.  Thought it was over dramatic for an equalizer.

You can't fault RVP for celebrating like that. That fact that it was against Chelsea was important, cause it tells LVG that RVP can still show up in big matches.
He's been mis-firing for a while now, and for a guy who was banging in goals left right and centre and lately going through a drought for a while now, the goal meant a lot for him. Had he not scored, and a fully fit Falcao and Rooney coming back, could have spelled the end of him starting for a while (especially if Falcao scores in the derby).

Basically RVP's neck was on the line, and that goal bought himself some time...

Was amused by seeing this pic from the weekend... Xavi inspecting the grass at the Bernabeu just before the Classico. He's been known to lodge official complaints over grass length. LOL, he'd hate the pitches my son's team has to play on.

Ian's boy is really coming into his own playing stateside. He tied the MLS single season goal scoring record notching his 27th goal. Love the way he worked to get this goal... Think he should get a shot with the Three Lions?

LOL, United don't look that much different even with the new acquisitions ...  (I kid, I kid... Sorta)...

Sunderland plays this ridiculous defense every week, (see Alexis' 2nd goal on saturday, Oh and his first) and yaw have no issue watching EPL teams...

Meanwhile MLS teams paying out 1/10th of what Blunderland/QPR/Newcastle is paying their players...

SMH... Yaw funny....

1. Most of the time I'm watching a Blunderland match, is because I'm actually watching the other team.

2. The only time the lower matches are exciting is when it's like a midlands derby or a tyne-wear derby. And that's cause the quality isn't great, but those teams play their heart out on the pitch for the full 90.
