1. Most of the time I'm watching a Blunderland match, is because I'm actually watching the other team.

2. The only time the lower matches are exciting is when it's like a midlands derby or a tyne-wear derby. And that's cause the quality isn't great, but those teams play their heart out on the pitch for the full 90.
So MLS teams dont play their hearts out? LA Seattle game would say otherwise... DCU's turnaround from 3 wins last season to being the leader in the east has been a remarkable storyline...

Yaw can dog MLS all you want, but not taking into account payroll would be very naive.. You are getting what you PAY for, and you Eiddy should know it firsthand being that you watch SA footy.

Imagine if your Chiefs had an EPL payroll...

MLS is putting out a decent product on breadcrumbs compared to europe...

Sadly this Euro Footy elitism is a contributing factor to what's holding American soccer back from flourishing even more...

Imagine if some of the heads in here who are Euro fans "only" actually "Supported" their local MLS team?

90,000 fans came to watch Spain El Salvador in June at Fed Ex field outside of DC... Imagine if only 1/10th of those same fans actually went to a DCU game...

For the sport to grow and improve and attract better talent, their has to be TV deals/sponsorships/financial support from the local market. With MLS making vast improvements in their Soccer academies and homegrown talent, IMO, coupled with QUALITY local support (see Seattle and Portland fanbases), The sport can grow and flourish as a quality 4th and maybe one day even 3rd Sport here in the US.

You guys can stick your noses up at MLS all you want, just know that you are indirectly contributing to the Sport's lack of growth in the US.

And LMAO at dudes expecting EPL/EURO quality play from teams with total payrolls less than the average starter yearly salary on Chelsea/City/Man U.

MLS is why Eiddy left the country

I don't think I ever watched MLS in my life. I'm down to start though.

*Wait that's not true. I've seen 4 games

I've watched a few MLS games, I didn't see much outside of the bigger matches. Granted, I wasn't really looking. I couldn't really care cause of the timezone either.

I'm dogging MLS because I'm in a position to, as MANY a people are in the position to dog the PSL, yet I still watch and support.

I understand your logic, trust me I get it, but you're preaching to someone who lives on another continent who has no real interest in MLS.

Me taking an interest in MLS would be the equivalent of me watching the Mexican league.

Now those who are footy fans in the states, I certainly see your comments about people needing to actually support.

But my man...I don't even think I'll ever even live in America again, and I just couldn't really care about MLS too much effort for me with the timezone to watch lower quality footy. I already watch lower quality footy every weekend with ease.

Repped for the honesty.

I def dont expect YOUR Support for MLS, as you are an entire hemisphere (or two) away, lol...

My comments are more for the Americans on here that share this "euro-snob/hipster" attitudes about footy...

And random, but i used to HATE the mexican league with a passion... I actually find myself enjoying it more recently, especially some attacking teams (Santos, Pachuca, America, etc) that have diversified and are bringing in talent from all over Latin America... The league has def improved...

I guess I just try to understand context behind certain things before dogging them... Hopefully folks on here can as well....

ON that note, I hope the Red Bulls win midweek so my DCU fam can troop to Jersey next weekend and take over Red Bull Arena... Plus I'd get to see the KING play (again)...

Also if any DMV heads are interested, Me and my folks are hosting a pretty huge tailgate for DCU's first playoff homegame Sat Nov 8th in lot 8 @ RFK. Holla at me if you wanna slide thru...

I definitely hear you loud and clear, the only reason yesterday Chiefs lost to Super Sport United in the cup :smh: is cause of investment from fans, which lead to investment financially from PE firms/private investors etc. SA footy went from 2 teams and a bunch of other randoms, to 4 teams going for the top in the past few years. One of the biggest reasons why, is that the PSL was signed to SuperSport (lol yes....Super Sport United is owned by M-Net...which is owned by Multichoice....which just so happens to be the biggest satellite tv provider in Africa called DSTV, which just so happens to own a range of Sports channels called "Super Sport" :smh: only in Africa) for tv distribution throughout Africa. They also launched a new satellite lite package which is MUCH more affordable for the masses.

Hence viewership skyrocketed...

I've witnessed first hand what can happen in a league with investment from fans (viewing and going to games)...

Eiddy gets a pass, he don't eem live here. I can see what yall mean for people who live here and hate on your own domestic league though. I been supporting my club even though we've only had 1 great year out of the 4 we've been in the MLS.

One thing I can see why people don't support it as much is that it's not an ideal league for Americans to develop yet either. There are a lot of foreign players who flourish here so most the games yall watch aren't even an "American" product. I would like to see teams promote more American players but that still isnt happening fully around the league.

It's not that I'm against foreign players, it just shows you how far behind the US is in youth development.

That'd be me I think? I'd presume I'm one of those dudes.

Hipster tho? Meeehhhhh, I would never ever say that. Extremely offensive.

Sunderland plays this ridiculous defense every week, (see Alexis' 2nd goal on saturday, Oh and his first) and yaw have no issue watching EPL teams...

Meanwhile MLS teams paying out 1/10th of what Blunderland/QPR/Newcastle is paying their players...

SMH... Yaw funny....

:x

I just saw both goals for the first time right now...my God...:smh: absolutely SHOCKING...

I don't even know what Poyet can say to these players anymore. If this continues by December, might be time to call Pulis...

Truth be told, I find Championship footy more fun to watch than the Prem. It's down right agonizing watching the Prem sometimes.

My wife actually prefers to watch MLS over the Prem.

Changed the title of this thread to have relevant MLS news in it and I also switched the MLS from 6th league ( league title list) to now third, right behind La Liga.

I now feel like I've done plenty to support the MLS. I succeeded my max capacity tho.

I don't know why Neuer doesn't get more consideration for the Ballon d'Dor. There's only been 1 keeper to win the award & that was in the 60s... :smh:

Neuer is a maestro between the sticks... I mean look at this ridiculousness... Dude is insanely great.

Speaking of MLS, it looks like Don Garber & Co has shut down Chivas USA effective immediately. A new club will begin in LA starting 2017 with an ownership group consisting of venture capitalist Henry Nguyen, Peter Guber (chairman & CEO Mandalay Entertainment Chairman - what a name), Tom Penn (former NBA executive & ESPN analyst), & Vinny Tan... The league will hold a dispersal draft for the players currently on the club that's said to take place in December.

Can someone explain how over 700 teams can compete in the FA Cup?

I'm not certain on the fine details but it's basically a competition open to every team governed by the FA.

Below the four professional divisions there are a bunch of other divisions that are regionally based, some of them are a mix of professional, semi pro, and outright amateur teams. All the way at the bottom you have the equivalent of what are basically Sunday pub leagues full of average Joes who in theory could go on a run and win the FA cup or earn promotion all the way to the Premier League over x amount of seasons and win it.

Nani has been in the form of his life since joining boyhood club Sporting CP on loan from Manchester United.

The 27 year old winger was the Man of the Match last night as Sporting beat Maritimo 4-2, bagging two assists in the process.

On loan from Manchester United for the rest of the season, Nani produced a ball which was a thing of beauty for Joao Maria.

His Sporting teammate just needed to get a boot on it, to which he duly obliged.

Nani’s loan move is proving rather beneficial to himself and Sporting CP. Can Manchester United profit next season?

United fans, ya'll want him back?

Just finished watching Sevilla vs Villarreal off my dvr... Denis Suarez is playing well. He's started 6 of 8 league matches notching a 3 assists & a gaming deciding goal in the game this weekend... Zubi should definitely pull this kid back for next year's campaign.

Wow, Dotrmund... :x A 1-0 home loss to Hannover has the team 15th in the table...
