If you knew how much money soccer related apparel/merchandise is made in the US every year, your head would spin. Outside of ticket sales, soccer is more lucrative in the US than in Europe

They can make Euros in Europe where the sport is #1. Doubt it's a cash grab when they have to compete with all the major US sports that draw more attention while only getting US dollars they're probably gonna get taxed from.

They know we have great athletes here and they're just testing the waters to see if they can transform our athletes into soccer athletes. I rather have our players develop overseas in the Bundesliga than the MLS anyways.
