Crazily enough...there is some truth to that statement.

Soccer in the US is a money sport. What soccer is to kids around the world, basketball is to us here. But soccer, you gotta join a club, pay for kits, find a field, all that extra stuff. It's usually suburban communities where all those things are established also.

With that being said it would still take a good amount of time for us to catch up to other nations even if it was more available.

You brag a lot yet I doubt you even play the sport or are competent at it

That's Nonsense, I played AYSO growing up. I was on the blue team. Or sometimes I was on the white team, I don't know - we had reversible jerseys, the anticipation was nail-biting. Suspenseful stuff.

But hey, maybe I'm wrong. Maybe the rest of 99.9% of the football fans in the world are idiots and Messi is overrated; like you say. Nani is one of the best players in the world; like you say. And the US could easily win a world if it wasn't for "politics"; like you say. Maybe you're on to something.

Or maybe, you're just a troll? (Wonder what most in this thread would lean)

Still putting words in my mouth. What's new. Nani is one of the better players when he was at united on a team filled with crap players like Valencia, young, carrick etc and I'm a united fan. Too many fans with short term memory these days that follow trends and are quick to slander a player that was instrumental in winning CL and EPL trophies. Nani is one of only three good players on Portugal's team and Portugal is garbage so maybe that's not saying much...

I don't think I've ever seen Wazza do a cartwheel until today...

Apparently not the first time!

Who the hell is repping Truth-Serum's posts? This guy makes the most outlandish and ignorant statements time after time and is still getting reps? :smh:

Nani is a great player, despite not having done @$@$ in 4 years
Neymar is trash and is only hyped up because of Nike ads/posters
Messi sucks
Barcelona are racist towards black players
USA can easily win the World Cup

etc.

And he ALWAYS brings up Portugal and how much they suck whenever he's called out on his ridiculous statements. How are these "You mad cause Portugal got crushed in the World Cup" even relevant? Find one Portuguese fan who thought we were gonna make any noise in the World Cup or was surprised when we got kicked out.

Dude thinks that because he predicted the WC winner correctly (as if everyone in the whole world didn't think Germany had a great chance to win it :rolleyes) he's the authority on football now

I stand by what I say. The US could win the next world cup if the powers that be would let it happen. This burb sport mentality needs to be abolished. The federation, youth system needs to stop picking talent pool from the burbs. I'm out in the burbs. Most of these kids are buns (My Lil bro plays on a travel team so I see this with my own eyes when he travels to play in other states along the east coast). They're just playing cuz mommy and daddy want them to play and do something athletic. This is not where the talent is. There are plenty of kids in this country who are products of immigrants that can really play with the best of em. The US soccer federation needs to stop with the favoritism. The squad needs to be overhauled completely. You can't compete with piss poor players on the team like a Bradley, beckerman, Johansson (kid is buns it's laughable yet he somehow made it to Brazil)

Face it, the US soccer federation wants to promote a team with the stereotypical "all american" guys because the american public can "relate" to them more even if they suck at the sport. They don't want a team filled with Pablos, Giuseppes or whatever foreign name
But who on the US national team is your suburban hero?  Who are the "all american guys"

Clint? - he is arguably our best player and can hang with the best in the world

Bradley? - did you watch him at Roma?  Insane work rate and a very good holding midfielder.  He isn't the creative number 10 that he was asked to be at times for the USMNT

Beasler? - had an excellent WC

I will admit beckerman is done...the stage of the world cup was wayyy to big for Johansson (who isn't in the all american discussion)....and geoff cameron was shaky.

I get what you are saying/getting at...but you have no proof that this is the case.   We have a lot of foreign players on the team and it is a cop out to say "There are plenty of kids in this country who are products of immigrants that can really play with the best of em"  where....where are these people?  They either A: don't actually exist or B: have dual citizenship and won't play for the US.  If you had a choice between team usa and the azzuri (cough Giuseppe Rossi cough cough) who are you playing for?

For a NT reference its like when some one posts a pic of a hot female and all of NT says oh i see hotter girls every day....no no you don't...you just say that because it can't be backed up or refuted you just want to sound cool.

wait, so your saying Nani is good because he shined when United played with crappy players?? If he was so good, why didn't other clubs try to buy him?

I missed the Courtois/de Bruyne story the other day. Do not let that man around your girl and a kitchen.

Um, USA roster is FILLED with second generation immigrants and has been over the past decade...

Bedoya

Jozy

Garza

Gonzalez

Rimando

Hamid

(the ENTIRE German American Contingent)

Morales

Nguyen

Ibarra

Rubin

And I could go on and on...

LIke son CAN'T possibly be serious that USSF is putting together an "all american" image as an argument... FOH with that...

We prolly have one of THE MOST diverse rosters on EARTH.

(And i didn't even mention the MANY AfAm players on the squad in recent years, Tim Howard, DeMarcus, DeAndre, Eddy Johnson, Gooch, Edson Buddle, Maurice Edu, Robbie Findley, and ON and ON and ON)

Dude aint a troll, he just spews ignorance.

@DiscoMirror

Van Gaal confirms De Gea, Di Maria and Carrick are fit to face Arsenal. Blind out and doubt over Shaw. Full story on @MirrorFootball #MUFC

Glad that ADM,DDG and Carrick are good to go though,I'm a little concerned about Shaw. Any Falcao news?
