 fans are ******* insane

Seriously, I'm all for a crazy atmosphere at stadiums, but how long are flares going to be snuck into games before someone really gets hurt?

Surely there needs to be a clamp down of security measures.

Sucks that BVB won't be in the champions league next year. Pogba delivered (still continues to haunt the board at United). Should have watched that game instead.

What the linesman was doing I'll never know. Clearly offsides.

I really hope Alexis slapped the **** out of Per, Monreal and Flamini for throwing away another amazing performance of his with their amateurish defending in the last 20 mins.

As mad as I was at the final whistle, I guess in the grand scheme of things the collapse today was karma for the smash and grab from the away game.

Only game i caught was Real vs Pool.

Marcelo was wreaking havoc down the wing.  I thought Real dominated the game and honestly should have had more goals.  Bale has to finish that.  I thought Ronnie could have done better on the chance he cut back to his right foot that was blocked by Toure.  They had a few close free kicks that were not taken very well (CR7 and Bale).  Ronaldo just didn't look himself for a lot of the game.  Kroos was very impressive.  I don't get to watch Real a lot but he was controlling the pace of the game and making all the right passes.  Meanwhile....Modric was doing everything else

.  Dude epitomizes the word industrious.

When ronaldo is on and you have James-Bale-Ronaldo-Benz-Kroos....good lord that attack.

Rodgers should be ashamed at himself for putting on a weak side. If you're going to put on at strong team for Carling cup, don't put your b squad for a Champions League match

Louis van Gaal fears Premier League could be too physical for injured Radamel Falcao
- Falcao has scored just once since moving to Old Trafford on loan
- Striker is injured with a thigh problem and has started just three games
- United have deal in place to sign Falcao permanently but will want to see improvement before they commit to big-money move

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is already concerned that loan signing Radamel Falcao may not be physically capable of sustained action in the Barclays Premier League.

United signed the Colombia striker on loan from Monaco at the start of the season and already have the details of a permanent deal in place if he has a good spell at Old Trafford.

However, Falcao arrived having suffered a serious knee injury last season and has only started three league games.

The 28-year-old is nursing a thigh problem he picked up in training ahead of the game against Chelsea last month.

He has scored once this season and Van Gaal and his coaching staff know they will have to see a vast improvement on that return if Falcao is to justify his big wages between now and the summer.

United cannot afford to commit to a long-term contract that would cost them more than £1million a month in wages on a player who will be 29 in February unless they are sure he is up to it.

They are keen to recruit a world-class goalscorer in the summer, but will not have the budget to sign Falcao full-time and then pay big money for another centre forward.

won't be anytime soon, though.

Only positive things worth saying about yesterday's game was Marcelo's ability to attack (crossing to be exact) and somewhat get back to defend  . Also Varane's defending, what a bright future this kid has.

Team as a whole couldn't finish, not to say they played terrible, but just not as crisp. You would think that with the lineup Liverpool came with it would have been a massacre, but whatever.

The yellow card on Ramos was awful, undeserving. The tackle was clean, but it's the history/past antics that got him that imo.

I can't get tired of saying how happy I get seeing Modric and Kroos hold down that mid, man. AHHHHHHHHHHH.

On to the round of 16.
