With the amount of money spent, it's sad to see City be so one dimensional & reliant almost solely on Aguero.

Second week in a row teams marked Di Maria & shut down United's possession. LvG really needs to figure out the problem with this & how to get better play out of the midfield.

Damn, Dortmund's injury woes continue, Hummels to miss at least 3 weeks with foot injury... They've already been shaky in defense.

edit - like someone said before, if Aguero could stay healthy for most of the year he would definitely get consideration. He's gotta hire hire a personal physio & get a hyperbaric chamber or 2 also...

Honestly, the biggest problems on the club (Barca) are the stalwarts from their historic run under Pep, including & most specifically La Pulga. Although blessed with once a generation type natural ability & talent, he wasn't ever the one that pushed his fitness or a gym rat. Once you get older, those natural abilities aren't conjured up easily. Its only the ones that work out regularly that can excel well as they get older.

There didn't seem to be a sense of urgency from the team yesterday. This has been a problem since Pep's last year. It was a stark contrast from what Celta was doing at Camp Nou. They were ready to run the minute the game started & stayed organized every moment each time Barca tried to take back momentum.

Gotta hand it to Eduardo Berizzo. Another fine La LIga manager. His Celta side has played well on the road this campaign notching draws at Atleti & Athletic.

Shoot, look at Ronnie. Again, can't stress enough how people need to see past the flash of this dude... He's a tireless worker on & off the pitch & it shows. One could also argue that part of Messi's magic hinged upon having a stellar midfield behind him with the likes of Xavi & Iniesta who were in their primes. Xavi is arguably the finest ever player from Spain.

Bara have talent/speed in the youth ranks. Next year, I'd like to see a midfield consisting of Masch in the holding role with Rakitic & Suarez rounding out the midfield. Iniesta, Rafa, & Busquets can be the reserves. I think Xavi will move on.

Plus I've expounded how much talent is in the youth ranks previously.

The one thing I don't trust is Zubi, Bartomeu, & this damn board...

I'd put Messi in the CAM/CF role and have Suarez and Neymar as strikers. Then Masch and Rakitic as holders.

Whatever it is tho, someone is going to play out of position. That's the concern I had when Suarez came in, where is he going to play? It was such an odd transfer for me. So un-Barcelona like.

Still early tho, yesterday however - they just seem to slow. Dani Alves needs legitimate replacement.

I read some of the feedback Sao Paulo supporters had with Douglas during his time with the club saying he had talent but was often caught out of position & too often guilty of lackadaisical play... I was thinking to myself why Zubi bought this guy, but it came from a recommendation from a Brazilian "consulting" company that has ties to Rosell which made perfect sense... This is the guy that's supposed to replace Alves.

I would've thought RB Patric from the B squad might be ready... He's been pretty steady & even earning Captain honors with not only his steady play but leadership. He's even played with the first team back in 2013 as a surprise replacement for Puyols during a CL match against Ajax which Barca won 2-1.

Again, Zubi, this damn board & Bartomeu have no idea what they're doing to me in terms of football matters...

He's a product of Monaco's system tho, it would be a good look for Ligue 1 to have him...especially if he's on another team that's not PSG. But idk if it would help sell tickets for the club.
