Because of the rain. Between the Timbers, Timbers U23, Portland Thorns, and Portland State football all playing their homes games, upkeep of a grass field would be impossible. Keep in mind Portland sees almost twice as much rainfall a year than a city like London.

For the first time ever I'm actually agreeing with Alexi Lalas on his post game comments on the Pep-Porter situation. If you don't want injury risks don't take the money and don't come here. There's no reason to have unnecessary tackles but not shaking the hand of the other head coach is classless.

MLS Allstars are by faaaaaaaaaaar at the greater disadvantage even with Bayern being well into their preseason. Obviously not saying they're a better collection of players or anything (before the anti-MLS contingent says something).

Pep Be respectful man. Porter talks about wanting to learn from the man and tries to shake his hand all across the pitch, only to get the cold shoulder for playing like it's a real game. Classy from the players to give congrats and shake hands afterwards, regardless of their coaches trying to force them off the field.
