A Good win, but wish the performance was better.
Recorded the matches today so I just finished watching Liverpool. Decent start, but Southampton made the back line look very vulnerable. The loss of Suarez was also evident today, I really hope Rodgers manages to sign another marquee striker before the transfer window closes.
I agree to an extent. We do need another young agile forward up front to play along side Sturridge. I was hoping that the Remy deal would've gone through because he could have been that player. However, I wouldn't blame it all on that alone. Rodgers played them in a 4-2-3-1 formation for the first time ever today.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has claimed English football has a "massive problem" with players who earn too much money too young.
Rodgers warned that young British players are failing to fulfil their potential because their huge salaries cause them to lose their hunger for success in football. He said: "It's a big problem with British players. Why? Because the reward is no longer there, they lose their hunger. Young players driving about, I say driving about, they buy a new Range Rover Sports before they have even got their driving licence."
Rodgers said Liverpool would take special care of Raheem Sterling, their 19-year-old winger who established himself as an England international during the World Cup, in negotiations over any potential new contract.
Rodgers said: "It will be something that's done, but we need to be careful. Raheem is a kid who has propelled himself on to another level. He got rewarded for that, and that will always be the case here. But we have to be careful because when you reward young players too quickly, that will be their downfall."
Rodgers said some other young players are not so level-headed. "Over half the world watch the Premier League, and our young players get carried away, then they wonder why their careers fall away."

feel the exact same way. media coddles them way to much as well when they are young. Have everything handed to them..like large wages.

off topic but sorta related how the hell did shane long warrant a $20m dollar transfer? lll

I wonder if there was any truth to the Sterling to Madrid rumors

You'd think that ultimately his best position is going to be the one occupied by Gareth Bale for a very long time though, and he'd probably prefer to be a first team star for 'Pool instead of in Real's deep bench.

Look at this, beautiful.

It would be a shame if he goes to ManU.

You don't have to worry about that unless David Gill steps in and does the deal.

Woody is useless, and it's shown through this TW again. Great at realizing the commercial value of a club/company, but he doesn't know anything about the business of football and how transfers work.

@guardian_sport PSV fans protest against introduction of Wi-Fi at Philips Stadion

PSV Eindhoven supporters launched a vehement protest against the introduction of Wi-Fi at their stadium during the 6-1 victory over NAC Breda in their club’s opening game of the Eredivisie season.

Fans in the T and U sections of the ground – the most vocal areas of the Philips Stadion – were angered by the club’s move to allow supporters better access to data on their mobile phones during matches, with one banner reading: “**** Wi-Fi, support the team”. Placards with crosses running through the Wi-Fi signal were also held aloft before the match with many fans believing the support has been lessened by distracted fans looking at their phones instead of the match.

Supporters’ groups believe the introduction of the technology is just the latest in a series of decisions intended to gentrify the crowd at home matches, with stewards clamping down on standing in sections of the ground where supporters have preferred not to sit for a number of seasons. “You can sit at home” and “Stand united” banners were also held aloft.

Arsenal have made PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot a very good offer & could finalise the deal soon, reports @DiMarzio.
Arsenal & Chelsea had scouts at Sporting's game on Saturday to watch Carvalho, @ojogo report.
Khedira's agent will fly to London this week to try & negotiate a deal with Arsenal or Chelsea, @Independent report.
São Paulo right-back Douglas to join Barça next summer for £6.4m if club can't sell Alves now, say @mundodeportivo.

I'm hearing that management has agreed to include Nani on a loan in a €20 mil swap for Marcos Rojo. Good to see them working on improving that back line while getting rid of dead weight at the same time.

Crossing my fingers that the rumored £100 mil package for Di Maria also turns out to be true.

Rabiot is a very good prospect, Can't believe PSG are letting him go
