I hate to play the numbers game, but Suarez has .62 goals per appearance for Liverpool. Whereas Balo has .60 with his most recent club Ac Milan. Imo the price which we've paid for Balo and the amount of years we have him locked down for is a steal. He has the talent and he seems more mature.I think it will work out.

I hate that minutia of statistical mumbo jumbo. Statically speaking Cesc has done well while at Barca but we all know he never fit into the squad for a variety of reasons & was never consistent.

If you look dating back to '07-08 campaign, Balo has played like 150-160 games with 50-60 goals & maybe 25 assists. In that same period Suarez has played like 200+ games with 150-160 goals & apprx 100 assists. Even if you cut that in half, he's out performed Balo by a wide enough margin. Suarez has been amazingly consistent on the pitch, bites be damned....

BTW, Hannibal is going to have another episode & for the record, I wouldn't have signed him to anything longer than a 2 year deal with an option for a 3rd (they really don't do that in football) & loads of behavior clauses (which aren't in there)...
