Kompany & Vertonghen have seemed to declined the last 2 years or so, particularly Kompany. He was really awful the back half of the last campaign & in the later portions of the WC. He's looked bad this campaign for City too.

Exactly. Whereas de Vrij, Martins Indi, Blind, Janmaat, Kongolo, VDW, and Willems are only getting better at their positions.

Some goings on at training pitches.

Christian Eriksen vs Danny Rose & Ryan Mason in a cross bar challenge... Eriksen goes 10 for 12.

Ronnie, Marcelo, Coentrao & Benzema practicing their backheels against Pepe & Varane...

How's Lil' PSK doing? Any updates, soccer or otherwise.

Thanks for asking Champ... Lil psk is doing great. First, he's doing well in school. Earning all As & Bs. He's always great at home.

Footy wise, his team finished 20-4-5. The team started off a little shaky in Sept, but we finished up strong in Oct. I posted in here a few weeks ago that his team one a tournament in Mechanicsburg, PA called the Dillsburg Shootout.

Out of 32 U11 teams, our squad beat the brakes off the best PA, NJ, VA, & MD had to offer. We got 2 more tournaments locally to finish the fall campaign & then we start the winter futsal & indoor season.

My boy was in transition this fall after playing fullback/sweeper for his prior club. He played center forward & winger for most of the season. He legit tried & tried to score even some really beautiful shots but couldn't hit the back of the net but once. Good thing is his misses ended up being rebound scores for team mates & he had some really nice assists.

I'm trying to really instill a sense of hustle like Ji Sung Park & Puyols had. Trying to teach him the value of hustle not only on the pitch but in life too.

What's going on with you? Haven't seen you on NT for a lil bit... Working? New ladies?

I guess it's gotten so bad for Wenger that he has to lay low after that debacle against Anderlecht

Yes it's obviously not actually Wenger

I can't wait for the day Hazard learns how to finish in the final third. He takes goals how he would take a penalty...waiting for the goalkeeper to make the first move. Gotta be more aggressive in the box.

its crazy that the MLS is bringing Villa, Lampard and Kaka next year
Still gonna amount to nothing. Casual viewers are not going to watch games based off Lampard, Villa and Kaka. For fans of MLS it's gonna big but I don't see my NFL, college football, or NBA fans watching more MLS next year just because of those three. I'm just basing my opinion off of my perspective but it might be different in other parts of the US.

You're absolutely right and it won't be for a while. Other sports fans might tune in later as the league's prestige grows and more kids are raised on soccer being one of the sports to keep up on. MLS's big problem is that while there's a sizable amount of soccer fans in the country, they gotta compete with established sports leagues with 20x more money in addition to better soccer leagues abroad. Most people don't follow the league due to not being knowledgeable about it, not having a local team or due to being soccer snobs. Things is for the league to get better, we have to support local teams, watch games to improve ratings so they can get more money into the league. Until then, teams can only spend so much. The salary cap was 3.1 mil this season and it will go up with the CBA negotiations coming up in a couple months by a mil or 2. Most people don't want to lay the groundwork and want to show up when things are poppin. I don't blame them since better quality of play is easily watchable. But the league has greatly improved since 96 and it keeps on getting better. It just got a long way to go to catch up on league that are older by decades.

I feel you fam. On some humble brag ishh but I'm blessed to be a Timbers fan. We sell out our games every year even though we haven't won ANYTHING in the MLS. Teams do need the support of their local fans. Even though the quality ain't there quite yet how do you expect a league to grow without supporting it? It's a lot harder for the big metropolitan teams to gain interest in their club due to the fact they are competing with major NFL, NBA or MLB teams.

The quality of play is one factor too. There isn't really a club in the likes of (old)Man U, Real Madrid, Barca, Bayern or PSG who dominates their league year in and out in the MLS. There's parody which in a competitive stand point is good but without a dynasty, drama or a team everyone likes to hate it's hard to sell tickets.

Look at LeBron or Brady for example. Everyone loves to hate em but they sell tickets. We all tune in when they play against our team to see if we can go for that upset. I think what the MLS needs is that dude that is so good everyone loves to hate.

The interest is growing, but until we have a super star, homegrown athlete that is world class, or a villain it's hard to root for a league that is 3rd or 4th fiddle in every city.

Hmmmmmmmmm should I stay up to watch this game. Liverpool have been buns all season, don't know if it's worthy it.

Both Hazard and Ramires have turned and run away from Gerrard in the first 3 minutes.
