No. Bale? That's laughable. And I REALLY respect what Bale is capable of, and like him as a player, but no.

In fact, there probably isn't a player in the world I would swap DDG with. As much as Neuer is in his prime, he's 28, DDG is 24. You probably would think I'm wilding out, but I wouldn't trade DDG for Ronaldo/Messi at this point. He's young, only getting better, and no one else can cover for what he can do (Messi & Ronaldo, while one player may not be able to replicate their ability to single-handledly win a match, a combination of 2 players might...the same can't be said for DDG, he's the last line of defence and handles it like a veteran). That's how valuable I think he is to United (and this isn't just based on his recent form, it's from watching him from when he first arrived as a skinny kid).

Co-sign with Eiddy on DDG. There's not anyone I would give up right now for him,he's been to crucial to the teams success with the defense being as it is and he hasn't even come close to his peak yet.

I know dudes are sticking by their team's keeper, but neither of them comes close to Neuer. A lot of us don't have access to watch Bundesliga but if anyone saw him during the WC, it was an amazing sight to see a true "sweeper keeper" at play. He scarred the crap out of me numerous times with the number of time's he'd comfortably come out of the box & handle the ball with this feet... His ability to distribute the ball is unparalleled also.

DdG & Courtois don't come close to this dude... He's on a plateau by himself at the moment... When you see DdG or Courtois coming out like this & also making the saves Neuer does we can talk whose better...

Don't get me wrong, DdG & Courtois are great keepers, but they're just not on the same level as Neuer.





Edit - If you did watch the WC, than you'll know this Algerian team was pretty fast & played at a very break neck speed so for Neuer to come out comfortably, was amazing to see.

I wasn't trying to discredit anyone or say that one's better than the other by saying that.

I've seen my fair share of him to know that there's a definite reason why Neuer is on the shortlist for the Ballon D'or. No other keeper in the World even comes close to him in terms of what he can offer to a team including basically being the fifth defender for his squads but what I was trying to say is that I don't see a better fit than DDG for the current team.

About Courtois,he's not gonna be leaving Chelsea anytime soon

. Him and DDG are right up there though in terms of potential upside.

Edit - Look at the plays at the 1 min mark & then the 1.11 mark... Absolutely amazing. I can't imagine how fun it is for Bayern fans to watch this guy play every week...

You forget that Neuer is also playing in one of the weakest of the top 5 leagues. I personally think Courtois is better, but I rate DDG high because out of the 3 keepers, he easily has the worst defensive line to help him out

I had a discussion with a friend about this. I think Courtois comes up big when he has too, but DDG ALWAYS has to. I can't tell who is "better". They have very similar skill sets

i honestly rate DDG better.. especially in 1 v 1 situations...i also question courtois's distribution at times, but DDG has his moments too.. i like how DDG plays as an 11th outfield player, he reads the game a lot like Neur, plays go through him.. i just don't see that from Courtois.. just my opinion

I don't watch the Bundesliga, but it's only a few months ago it was ranked behind Spain in UEFA coefficients. So people need to stop acting like Neuer is playing in the MLS.

barely have time for footy outside of united/epl (watch the big la liga games when i can).. how is Gerry doing?

Gerry is doing ok... He's played 15-16 total games (including Europa & Copa games) & has 3-4 goals & like 5 assts... He still tends to try & dribble against 3-4 opponents but he's generally doing above average.

The only other really bad knock on him is that he's still a liability in defense/tracking back... His speed though...

Denis Suarez isn't doing too bad either... He's got a couple of goals & proly 3-4 assists.

The loan move for both was good.

Yo. By no metric is the Bundesliga one of the weaker of the big four leagues.

If anything it's one of the strongest, easily the most balanced.

Yup one of the better leagues. Besides Bayern being super ahead of everyone else though
