Minnesota got the expansion team for 2018. And the waiting for Sacramento to get one continues...

Was still hoping for a last minute change of heart by MLS. I honestly thought Sacramento was the front-runner and that they would be awarded a MLS franchise, it almost seems that out of nowhere Minnesota was a favorite by miles. Garber tweeted the decision would be made in the next 40-60 days and then three days later it was all Minnesota. Hoping the league ditches Miami for the moment and awards it to us, but am guessing that will only happen if they decide to expand past 24 teams.

^there something I'm missing?

Don't see how a team in Miami with David Beckham as the owner wouldn't happen

MLS was always going to expand beyond 24 but now it's on record, Garber made an official statement last week saying MLS was ready to expand beyond 24.

Sac is as good as in it's just a matter of when. I'd even put the house on them being the next team in before Miami.

Some writers are speculating that Sacramento and MLS already have an agreement under the table in place they're just waiting for things to go all the way bad with Miami.

Tell that to the city of Miami. The city itself has been more or less indifferent from day one, the team behind Beckham where the money and power really lies has major flaws and doesn't exactly have their **** together.

Lengthy but excellent article on the situation in Miami.

There is a club here in the Baltimore "urea" called Maryland United Futbol Club (MUFC). They have MUFC on their shirts with the Maryland flag within the letters. They have black (shown), red, & grey shirts. All of them look better than this United away shirt. This team's kit even has Maryland socks.

I could get an adidas shirt from a local uniform supplier & slap on the United crest & chevy sponsor & it would look like that shirt.

For me, it just doesn't fit for a club of this stature.

Funny, I have a feeling the cost of the United deal, loss in market share, & financial loss had a huge hand in adidas not renewing it's NBA uniform deal.
You say that but adidas best work has been with its simple kits.. But that's my opinion. I prefer simple designs not that table cloth Nike was shoving down our throats

Robben has torn stomach muscles :x

It seems like these ADM exit rumors are stemming from LVG's dressing down of him in the locker room after Sundays match. If he can't handle criticism, just criticism at that since he hasn't exactly been in top form lately,I don't know what to say .

Argentine national team is practicing in Georgetown all week, might have to go down there to catch a glimpse of the team.

I agree with you on the table cloth looking United kits & about simplicity, but for me that leak is way too simple. No imagination whatsoever to come up with that.

Better examples from adidas with regards to simple/elegant are this season's Madrid kit (also last year's home kit). I like the last several versions of Ajax's home kit. I've liked Hamburg's home & even Chelsea's home.

Simplicity is also with this year's home & away United kits. I actually like them sans the hillbilly logo. I even like the 3rd kit (although that's not simplistic).

^ I agree for the most part, but I'd take a "soccer elitist" over an nfl fan meat head any day.
I've been called a meat head too many times in my life

How about we just call it the

"[emoji]9917[/emoji]️ Football Thread"

Or

"[emoji]9917[/emoji]️ EPL, La Liga, Champions League, MLS Thread"

No one in here watches the other leagues really

They can call theirs the "[emoji]127944[/emoji] NFL Thread" or "[emoji]127944[/emoji] NCAA Football Thread" to avoid confusion

^ Speaking from an American perspective, most soccer fans are fairly knowledgeable.

87% of nfl fans are total meat heads.

I'd rather deal with some semblance of intelligence which is devoid from an nfl fan.

Yeah I voted to "piss off" (with deepest affection of course)

But only because the long-winded (EPL, LALIGA, MLS, SERIE A, BUNDSLIGA, LIGUE 1, LIGA PORT, ETC) part gets on my nerves

I think everyone already knows this thread covers discussion of all leagues... just shortening it to something simple like "The official soccer thread" and a football emoji would be my personal choice.

*But I'm really not that bothered

Must be a slow news day with folk out here showing their disdain for a thread title..

It's one of the worst parts of the year, International break Lol.

Wait you guys see the soccer ball emoji in the thread title right? I put that in last week? I'm going to get rid of the (EPL, LA LIGA, ETC). Firepower is right.

Oh btw Firepower, I started watching an "idiot abroad", I found out who was that dude in your avy before, forgot to mention it - show is hilarious. British humor is my favorite.
