Carlo should do what he's talked about and take a sabbatical like Pep,these past few years at Real must have taken a few years off his life

Even though he helped them qualify for the CL over the weekend,Otamendi's agent say's he wants out of Valencia.

"Nicolas is comfortable with Valencia and the fans but will have an option to improve his career,” said Lopez.

“Jorge Mendes already knows that Nico wants to leave Valencia. Nico will do everything possible to get it, he will do everything possible to leave.

“If there's an offer from a club we consider a top club, and it benefits his family, Nico wants to go.

"There are many discussions with several clubs who want to sign Otamendi.”

It's hard to say how much was on Carlo and how much on the players, either way I thought the level of play of the midfield on offense was unacceptable. And it seemed like the team just relied on Ronaldo to come up with goals.

Carlo is my guy, check the avy...but losing to Juve was also unacceptable.

If they got to the final and lost to what's become an amazing Barca side, I would have been ok with losing to what's clearly been the best team in the world this season. But that didn't happen.

Strong reports coming out that Perez has sacked Carlo.

@ Rafa... Should be a strong year for not only Barca, but Atleti, Valencia, & Sevilla.

Rafa is a well prepared manager, but he has problems with players which has been his undoing at each of his jobs. He has no idea what kind of locker room he's coming into.

I thought Carlo did an admirable job despite the locker problems & supporter expectations (amidst the injuries late campaign). I think the one mistake Carlo made was not rotating his players enough to keep his bench players in form but that might have been due to Perez making Carlo play the players Perez wanted.

Yup I think that had a lot to do with it. The idea of Rafa coming in is just unbelievable but at the same time

It would be interesting if they forgot about Rafa and went with their backup plan in Sevilla's coach. A rising young manager with fresh ideas could be just what Real need.

I don't get the whole thing about Carlo being forced to play Perez's guys

Madrid just didn't have the depth people thought they did. The only great player on their bench was Isco, and he started over 40 matches due to injuries. So you can't even call him a bench player.

Aside from him, there was a big drop off in class with the other players.

Illara, Jese, Arbeloa, Coentrao, Chicharito?

In the very least Carlo should've given some playing time to Arbeloa & Coentrao to keep them fresh for the back end of the campaign. He used them so infrequently that when they did make appearances, both players looked really really rusty.

Fact is, Perez has the most expensive stable of players in all the world (both transfer $$$ & wages). If the players they have can't be relied upon to fill in, than the problem would be Perez huh?

Now that you mentioned Illara, I think Carlo & his coaching staff really failed to develop this kid into the player they needed because he was a rock solid player for La Real even against top flight competition. I think there were some things behind the scenes that crushed Illara's confidence.

There isn't a better coach more suited for Madrid than Carlo. That's a shame... I'm not sure players like Ronnie will take to Klopp's in your face style.

Carlo said he's going to take a year off recovering from a back surgery he's going to undertake & will spend time between Canada & Madrid... Who knew he liked Canada!?!?!

Unai Emery is an excellent coach but I'm not sure he's a big enough name to suit Perez. It's a shame because Emery has done an excellent job with whatever resources he's been given to work with at Depo, Almeria, Valencia, Spartak Moscow, & now Sevilla. Look at the best he brought out in Bacca (among others)....

Nah Carlo isn't to blame for Illara. Dude never looked like he was built for this. Even while he was Xabi's "understudy." In an alternate universe where Cam'ron lived in Spain, he'd refer to Illara instead of Andre Miller when talking about basic game. Dude has literally nothing he's great at and should be in a 4th-7th place type team to be more confident and flourish. His confidence is down because he's around world class players who are levels above him and he'll never be as good as.

Haha Carlo my man ,Real might come to regret sacking him. A bunch of the stars including Ramos,James and CR7 came out in support of him over the last week and I don't know if they'll take it too well.

I'll be surprised if Klopp is agreeable to the set up of the transfer committee at Liverpool. Fact is, I don't think any big name coach would, that's why I think Rodgers will get one more year because he does such a great job of toeing the club line.

I really can't picture any other top club where you could survive such a defeat like they had against Soton over the weekend after the type of season they had and still keep your job .

He should've been sacked this morning but I guess they're looking forward to mediocrity

Klopp would be a great replacement for Wenger. I think Frank De Boer is a good candidate as well but his European record isn't good. Granted Ajax doesn't have the squad strength that other clubs have. They certainly have had their moments. FDB just has a lot to prove in that area.

It will be interesting to see what happens with the Midfield if Bale isn't moved. You got Modric, Kroos, Isco, James, the new CDM they will bring in, Silva and Casemiro coming back. They just bought Kroos and James, Isco has stated he doesn't want to come off the bench, Modric is a world class player when healthy.

Of course if Bale is moved James takes his spot.
