Don't care too much for this cup, but I'm worried about Real going forward. We basically are selling Di Maria to fund the James move. I hope I'm wrong and the midfield gets it clicking by the knockout stages of the CL, but I don't think Madrid has nearly as good of a shot of repeating without him, or at the very least an upgrade for Carvajal.
Khedira+Di Maria for Kroos+James
I think the latter two will improve, but for this season it's overall basically an expensive lateral move, and "sexy" signings after James' golden boot and Kroos winning the World Cup.

I don't think you can call Kroos's signing sexy. Many people undervalued his class, since Bayern are so deep and the kroos deal was done before the world cup win. Every manager would love to have a player of Kroos ability in their team, he will add to real once he gets settled in. Now James was more of a power move, not needed but it works out for them since he will do major numbers shirt wise.

Am I the only one that appreciated seeing Cholo's Atleti side play his version of total footy? Every Atleti player contested every pass & ball. I love how this team just grinds it out the way they do. They're all committed to Simeone's gameplan/tactics.
I just hope Enrique can instill these virtues at Camp Nou. His Celta team took a little bit of time to get to the way he wanted them to play & I expect the same at Barca...
