Good thing Hannibal missed this game... I can't imagine the extent of the foolishness he would've unleashed. Erybody would've gotten the bit...

Hoffenheim picked up 18 year old forward Joelinton from Sport Recife for €2 m to replace Firmino.

Edit - Reports coming out that Liverpool have also signed Nathaniel Clyne... :x

Never caught Cavani in his Napoli days, but I've literally never seen dude have a single good match in all the PSG/Uruguay matches I've watched.

Guy scored 30 plus goals all 3 seasons at Napoli then scored 25 his first season at PSG then hit in 30 plus his second at PSG. Guy scores goals and he hustles back for defense. I wish he would come to Arsenal, guy is the whole package....

Still never see dude do **** in the CL except miss chances, and he's ghost when I watch him play for Uruguay. Like someone else said, he must just feast on the scrub teams of Ligue 1.

People have to realize that Cavani hasn't been playing his natural position for the last few yrs. When he plays as the lone striker he is much more deadlier then on the wing

Cavani ,rough week for the guy

Looks like Liverpool beat United to signing Clyne.

They apparently dropped out of the chase earlier this month so not too surprised but another solid signing for 'Pool...

Supposedly LVG has his sights on Monaco's Fabinho for his RB

What would possess you to put a finger in another guy's butt? Especially knowing there are cameras around?

- Bayern Munich have reached an agreement with Shakhtar Donetsk over the €35million transfer for Brazilian international Douglas Costa, according to reports in Germany. Costa has been linked with Premier League clubs but it seems the German giants have won the race for his signature if reports in Germany are correct.

- Real Madrid are preparing to make a £21m bid for Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny to replace Sergio Ramos, according to reports in Spain. The Independent reported this morning that Manchester United have tabled a £30m+ bid for the Madrid man and it seems they are keeping tabs on potential replacements.

- Sky Deutschland understand that Bayern Munich are interested in signing Manchester United’s Angel Di Maria. Big things were expected of the Argentina international at United but he managed a return of just three goals from 26 league appearances following his £59.7m move from Real Madrid. Manager Louis van Gaal is looking to strengthen the squad this summer has already made one addition to his squad with Dutch forward Memphis Depay joining the club from PSV.

- Carlos Tevez’s move from Juventus to Boca Juniors is very close, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. The two clubs have been in talks for the last week with a fee of 5 million euros plus a first option on talented Boca player Guido Vadala likely to be signed, according to reports in Italy.

- Inter are close to finalising a deal for Marseille’s Giannelli Imbula. The deal would see the player join the Italians on a one-year loan for 1 million euros with an option to buy for 18 millions euros. Imbula, who has made seven appearances for France at U21 level and has been dubbed “the next Patrick Viera”, has been previously linked with Arsenal and Southampton.

- Marseille midfielder Dimitri Payet is in London to finalise his £14m move to West Ham, according to Sky sources. The Londoners are leading the race to sign Payet, an attacking midfielder who has been capped by France and can also play out wide.

- Sky Sources understand that Dimitri Payet is to undergo the first part of his medical at West Ham today and the £14m fee and personal terms have been agreed. West Ham have already signed Spain U21 midfielder Pedro Obiang and former Manchester City trainee Martin Samuelsen since appointing Slaven Bilic as manager.

- Ray Wilkins, who is a guest today on Sky Sports News HQ, has just confirmed he is to join the Aston Villa coaching staff.

- Gerard Deulofeu will complete a £5m move to Everton in the next 24 hours, according to multiple newspaper reports. The 21-year-old winger previously spent the 2013-14 season on loan at the Toffees, scoring four goals in 11 starts for the club. Everton manager Roberto Martinez was keen on a second deal for the highly-rated youngster last summer but he joined La Liga club Sevilla instead on another season-long loan, and played 28 times, scoring three goals.

- Ian Cathro to be appointed Steve McClaren’s assistant at Newcastle, according to Sky Sources.

- Liverpool and Stoke City have showed the interest in Inter's Xherdan Shaquiri, according to Sport Mediaset. The Reds are believed to want a deal for the 23-year-old and were in for him in January but the player joined Inter from Bayern Munich.

Costa, 24, who can play in both full-back positions as well as in central midfield, is currently representing Brazil at the Copa America.

Last week, the player -- a key target for coach Pep Guardiola -- told Sport1: "I have been working for years towards playing at a big club in central Europe and if the opportunity arose, I would be very happy."

Costa, who has also been linked with Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester United, AC Milan and Monaco at various times, is set to sign a four-year-contract.

Meanwhile, Dubai club Al Ahli announced on Wednesday that they had agreed a fee to sign Shakhtar Donetsk striker Luiz Adriano, who scored nine goals in last season's Champions League.

The club revealed the news on their official website, while Al Ahli chairman Abdullah Al Naboodah added on his personal Twitter account: "The details of the financial contract and the medical report will follow in the coming days."

Sergio Ramos move being discussed by Man Utd and Real Madrid

Sergio Ramos: Real Madrid defender a target for Manchester United

Sky sources understand there has been initial contact between Manchester United and Real Madrid over a potential Sergio Ramos transfer.

Widespread reports in the UK media have claimed that United have made an offer in the region £35m for Ramos, but it is still not clear whether the discussions have actually reached that stage yet.

"There are tentative discussions between Manchester United and Real Madrid," Sky Sports News HQ reporter James Cooper said.

- Schalke have signed Brazilian right-back Junior Caicara from Bulgarian champions Ludogorets Razgrad, the club announced on Thursday. The 26-year-old will bolster a Schalke defence weakened for the start of next season by the absence of Japan's Atsuto Uchida, who underwent knee surgery earlier this month.[/quote]

- Hearts have signed their second striker this week after securing Spanish forward Juanma Delgado on a three-year-deal. The 24-year-old had committed to an extended contract with Greek Superleague side Kalloni earlier this year, but that has since been terminated allowing them to sign him without paying a fee. He is the third player to move to the Scottish Championship winners this summer after Blazej Augustin and Gavin Reilly, with the latter signing from Queen of the South on Tuesday.

Hope Gerry finds his feet at Everton. It's seems he and Roberto Martinez have an understanding of each other. So much potential only to be an idiot at times.

Liverpool finally doing some solid business this transfer window. We are filling all of our voids. Now lets see what goes on once the season begins.

^ Hope it all works out for the Reds Tommy...

As a general footy fan, I think it's rather sad that a player of Ramos' stature is could be leaving Madrid. Especially since he still has a couple of good years left to play.

I wonder how much of it is indeed a money issue. Did he really take umbrage to the younger Galaticos making more money than him? Given the money Madrid has, I would think this is a non issue in terms of paying Ramos so long as it's not too outrageous.

I wonder how/if this affects Ronnie? He's pretty close to beating Figo's goal scoring record & he's seems to have had an up & down relationship with Perez.

actually he plays better when he isnt the lone striker but when he plays alongside somebody like Suarez or Zlatan. hes playing his natural position for Uruguay but he needs another striker upfront.

what is United doing? another window losing very good players to other teams

Btw Ramos isnt going to no damn United man. All leverage. Cristiano pulled the same **** 2 summers ago.

All signs are pointing towards Ramos leaving, apparently Real doesn't want to agree to his contract demands. This smells just like ADM's and Ozils exit. He's finding out the hard way never to step to Flo just as Casillas is as well after the Mou fiasco

eiddy, I know you've been pumping him up but are you starting to get a little nervous that Woody is going to wait last minute again after everyone is gone & get some knee jerk transfers?

Nah, United will be fine. Remember the window only opens on July 1.

United don't want to make the same mistake of dragging out negotiations in public. I think United's targets are set, and they will quietly go about their business.

Woody won't have to convince quality to come and play under the likes of Moyes, having LVG around and CL footy will seriously help the cause.

The Clyne deal is really a surprise for me, cause he seemed set for United and there's no reason why United shouldn't have went for him (I'm not sure who else is more suitable and available). Other than that, United will be fine.

Liverpool set to seal £12.5m Nathaniel Clyne deal

Nathaniel Clyne: Set to move from Southampton for Liverpool

Liverpool are close to reaching a £12.5m agreement to sign Southampton’s Nathaniel Clyne, according to Sky sources.

Sky Sports reported earlier this month that the Reds had seen a £10m bid rejected by Saints, who want £15m for the highly-sought-after right-back.

It is believed the Merseyside club are in discussions over a structured deal that would take the fee up towards the £15m-mark based on certain conditions that would eventually be met by the player.

Clyne, 24, has just a year left on his Southampton deal and has been stalling over a new contract amid interest from the Reds and their north-west rivals Manchester United. Liverpool have been keen to make Clyne their new right-back after the release of Glen Johnson.

Clyne joined Southampton from Crystal Palace in 2012 and made 41 appearances for Ronald Koeman’s team last term, earning his first England cap in November.

He played the full 90 minutes in a 3-1 European qualifying victory over Slovenia, and has gone on to make four international appearances.

Liverpool have been swift in their transfer dealings so far in the current window, landing Danny Ings and James Milner on free transfers as well as young Brazilian attacker Roberto Firmino.

Former Liverpool defender and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher quickly took to social media to endorse his former side's latest move in the transfer market.

Carragher said on KICCA: “I saw Nathaniel Clyne at St Mary's after a game last season and told him to sign for LFC – he took my advice!

“I think it's another good signing for the club to go along with the other business already done.

“The early deals were a couple of squad players and also James Milner, who are all an improvement on what's currently in the squad.”
