Di Maria will go for 64 (poss extra 15 based on performance).. which is what Madrid paid for James.. imo the price is reflective of the market.. plus teams know united (like real, barca) have money. The days of 30 mil for a world class player are gone.. rumors circulating that united will push for Vidal but have NDJ and Blind as back ups with strootman coming in January.. I'm ok with both of those options.

Exactly.

I see people are STILL struggling with the basic principles of inflation, supply and demand.

saw this on twitter.. thought it was spot on

"Had #MUFC lost to PSG in bidding for DiMaria: Another top player says no to utd. If utd gets DiMaria: United paying too much."

Van Gaal: Kagawa not happy with role

The Dutchman played Kagawa as one of his two central midfielders during United's preseason tour of the United States.

But he said in his news conference at the Stadium of Light: "Kagawa did not wish to fulfil my wishes, my philosophy when I played him in the United States."

Juan Mata has been operating in Kagawa's preferred position behind the strikers and Van Gaal explained in July: "Kagawa was a No. 10 at [Borussia] Dortmund but I want to try him at No. 6 and No. 8."

Have you been living under a rock for a year?

No Madrid know that United are backed into a corner and are getting them to pay for the James deal, simple. United finished midtable and aren't in Europe so they just have to deal with the tag of overpaying for anybody to join them at this moment ESP leaving teams in CL.
The price jumped €15M more than what PSG were paying a month ago and turned down.

«@samuelJayC «@PortuBall Arsenal and Sporting are in talks over William Carvalho. Sporting wants €30-35m + 1-2 players permanently/on loan. [O Jogo]»»

Podolski has agreed a 3-year deal with Wolfsburg, report @lequipe. Fee €12m (£9.6m)

Should Schneiderlin leave, Southampton will try to replace Frenchman with Feyenoord's Clasie, report @telegraaf.

yet we both payed the same amount and we got the better player.. hmmm

Di Maria is worth it IMO, especially after the work he's put in last season and in the Champions League Final...that alone boosted his value.

If James can go for that high then I think Di Maria is in the same stratosphere especially as he's currently the better product.

biggest mystery in my mind right now regarding euro soccer is why kagawa never gets love from moyes/lvg.

I just dont get it

The thing is this. Kagawa is a fantastic player. But when he was at BVB, he was in a setup that was basically created around him, and he was unstoppable in that system. When he came to the prem, the system wasn't built around him/his style of play, so he's still a good player, just not the beast he was at BVB. Then, we won't even bother to look at the Moyes era, cause creativity was traded for booting it up field and hoping for a header in the box. LVG on the other hand, is probably thinking, he's got Mata and Kag's and Rooney for the 10. But Mata has taken more of his chances since arriving, Kag's hasn't. So he's going to go with what's working...rather than what's not..

eiddy is correct, Kagawa had the likes of Sahin & Gundogan providing service from behind him at Dortmund that had much more sophisticated passing. Kagawa is more scorer than playmaker. He's great at finding space off the ball using quick turns & one-two passing combos with Goetze beside him & Lewa in front of him.

Once he came to OT, he immediately played a style that didn't suit him. Attacking from wide positions, quick wingers racing up the flanks & such. United didn't have the type of deep lying playmakers like Sahin & Gundogan forcing Kagawa to drop back to receive the ball.

I hope he finds his way back to Dortmund...

BTW, first day of school pic. My son wanted to wear his United shirt because it had his old number & name. Got this when WSS had that $24 promo deal on United shirts in honor of Giggs years with the team early this year...

That would make me very happy. I know Mkhi is playing well out there, but Shinji in the 10 would be great to see again.

Yeah that BVB period was crazy. I remember Barrios was leaving soon, cause they had just brought in some new kid named Robert who looked pretty decent.

That team :smh: King Lewa finding form, Kagawa beastin....but when you looked further down the teamsheet :x Gotze, Subotic, Hummels, Blazochoasfnsaudfky, Gundogan, Bender, Schmelzer, Grobkreutz, Pisczek

I played FIFA with BVB that entire year

Something to take into consideration....the team I mentioned was 2011-12

Gotze is currently 22 years old.
King Lewa is currently 26 years old.
Gundogan is currently 23 years old.
Hummels is currently 25 years old.

:x

Saw this pic of an Ali quote at St. George’s Park... Young athletes today regardless of whatever sport don't understand this... It's why I marvel at the likes of Christiano because outside of his flashy steelo, there sit's a hungry pro that nows how to train... I hope he can find his way past the physical problems he's beset with right now because being a Barca fan aside, I love watching him play...

It's being reported that Balo's Liverpool contract is for 3 years & loaded with behavior clauses... He will not be available to play today...
