Speaking of MLS, here's a cool feature on Bradley Wright-Phillips talking about his pops... Cute the look on Ian Wright's face when he pulls out a pic on his phone of Bradley when he got MoM for a game when he was a kid. I've had that same smile & look when I look at pics of my boy.

I've actually enjoyed watching Thierry play with Bradley...

What's does heggsy heggsy and @Prettyboy RY7and some of their common folk think about The "Scotland vote"

This is huge man, if Scotland votes yes - Europe will put a lot of pressure on Spain to allow the Catalans to vote (which Spain has said vigorously they will not allow). If for some reason Catalunya gets a vote - won't even be close, it'd be a landslide. But like I mentioned last year, if this happens - FC Barcelona is out of La Liga.

Big day today.
Here's a quick video brief below if you don't know much about what's going on, it'll get you up to speed. Never has the dark gloomy skies of Scotland meant so much to the people of Catalonia.

If you have even more time for a rundown. Below is a more in depth analysis also shows Barça fans at the Camp Nou -

(Sorry to get a tad bit political, but so much of football already is political - plus if I posted this in General I'd get responses like "no one cares about white European problems", wait "Scotland is a country?", "what happens to the Union Jack?" - I wouldn't be able to take the responses  )

On Scotland...saw a note earlier that if "Yes" wins, Argentina wants to be their next friendly in Glasgow. Solid trolling.

If Scotland vote yes, they'll be a mess.

They rely on being part of the UK for most things, health service, social security etc.

I hope they do vote yes, just so they can see how hard it would be as an independent nation. Apart from that, I'm indifferent about it.

It would be interesting if Catalonia got their independence. La Liga has already come out stating Barca wouldn't be able to play in the league but if push came to shove, I think the team would remain, the same way Monaco plays in Ligue Un. I can't see Barca playing in Ligue Un or creating a Catalan league. I think the non binding independence vote is scheduled for Nov 9th.

Edit - The situation is different in Catalonia as opposed to Scotland. The Catalan region is doing reasonably well financially. I think unemployment is a lot lower in the region than the rest of Spain. A lot of Catalans are unhappy at the tax revenue Spain gets from the region because they pay more than the rest of Spain yet don't see as much of that money back in infrastructure, etc.

I'm unfamiliar with the situation. School me...

How much of the financial success and stability in the Catalan area can be attributed to the Spanish side? I look at a Situation like South Africa and Lesotho. While they're two different countries, Lesotho is basically a province of South Africa. Because if Lesotho was to be truly independent of SA, it would collapse over night.

From a nostalgic standpoint point it would be all cool but reality has to set in and Scotland will not be seceding from the UK. Their economy is too dependent on them. It would be suicidal.

A LOT.

Spain needs Catalonia more than Catalonia needs Spain. The average Catalan makes 4-6 thousand Euros more than the average Spaniard. For every Euro Catalan's put into the Spanish Government, they'll be lucky to get half of that back.

It'd be the like the United States losing the Northeast, everything from DC on up to Boston. That's the way one of my best boys/roommate described it. Dude comes from a prestigious Catalan family, who are very politically active in the pro-independence movement. So the bias was their on his end, but from what I've seen from the statistics he wasn't playing. It's hard to argue against it.

I'd always get into arguments with the dude tho saying that Barça aren't going to mean much anymore (on & off the field) when they're kicked out of LaLiga. I seriously think that'd be the only reason an average Catalan would be against independence is legit - FC Barcelona (what would happen)

But the rest of the reasons outside of football are pretty clear - Catalonia deserve and have the best arguments for independence.

Epic celebration fail, but a quick recovery. Funny how the stewards was waving at the guy to not jump, and then their reaction.

Btw, USWNT already up 3 at the half :smokin
:smokin for Alex

I guess nobody was watching the Europa League today? Some good games were on today.

Gerry D started today's game for Sevilla and got himself an assist.

I saw some of the villarreal vs wolfsburg match.

Wolfsburg weren't given a penalty due to a handball inside the box like at the 89th minute I think...

Great match though...

It's interesting to note that Lluis Companys is the only democratically elected president in European history to ever be executed as was done by Franco & his firing squads in 1940. Franco also executed Barca president Josep Sunyol years before in 1936.

I read once the areas in Spain that contribute most to taxes are Madrid, Catalonia, the Balearics, & Valencia. It's no coincidence that 3 of those contributing regions speak Catalan.

Here are some facts to consider also -

- 45-50% of all taxes collected from the region never return to the region in any kind of cash, investments, or infrastructure. The Catalan government presented many proposals to the Spanish government over the years to correct that but they were all rejected. It's my understanding, the is one of the highest in the world (areas highly taxed that don't see an appropriate return).

- Many claims have been made that an independent Catalan country would not be part of the EU, but the EU has never said that it would have to leave the union should Catalonia secede.

- Even if Spain were able to keep an Independent Catalan state from the EU, it should still be able to use the Euro just like Andorra or Monaco.

- An independent Catalonia could also belong to the Schengen Area like Norway or Switzerland.

- Lastly, the Catalan economy is not dependent on the Spanish market.

Watching the liverpool UCL game. Still don't see the praise with Sterling. He has speed I'll give him that but he always turns the ball over and losses possession easily

Have you watched any of his other matches this season leading up to that one match?

So Scotland voted No for Independence.

The English win again!! They are seriously the masters of using Stockholm-syndrome to their advantage throughout the past 400 years

Got to give them credit.

Damn, was looking forward to the new proposed Union Jack (Flag) if Scotland voted Yes.

*Catalonia won't be as bonded as Scotland was tho, that fight will continue to be more aggresive.

Man anything is better than that mickey mouse logo from the 90's. The rebrand and new crest is good money in my book. It actually reminds me a lot of the NFL crest which I don't think is a bad thing. I'm glad there aren't any more elements to it other than the letters MLS, some stars, and the colors on the nations flag. Now just waiting for USSF.
