Stop watching wrestling and get it done.

Haven't had time for that.

School has been laying the smackdown on me

I have a graded midterm on Wednesday. The law school is allowing a graded midterm for the first time and is using my class as an experiment. Just my luck

DeGrom, Ryu, Wheeler and Smyly will lock the Cubs down.

Man I'm glad I'm finished with school. Midterms and finals :x

I'm sitting in evidence right now, and ironically, my professor is named Ken(ny) Williams

Harper lasting until 46 really shocked me. He was also in the mix for me at 12, and I absolutely would have taken him with my second selection just three picks later.
I thought I was gonna scoop him up to hit in the three hole or in the cleanup spot behind Bautista. Would've given me a solid R/L power combo. Probably would've changed the way I drafted the rest of the way.

Then DSA had to pick him one spot in front of me :smh:

I really just wanted two studs to top my rotation. I was almost swayed with Harper still there when my Wainwright pick came around.

I took Machado over Harper for some reason. Wanted a lefty power bat but went with the young third baseman instead.

I was surprised Starlin Castro was still there in the 4th. I had to grab him
Today, I plan to evaluate best value pick of each round. In my humble opinion, of course. And best infield, outfield, rotation, bullpen, etc. Think it would be fun, to pass time if nothing else.

Thanks Champ, I'll definitely let you guys know if I need a hand!

This is not to say I didn't like certain picks

Looking at the first round I think Giancarlo, Rizzo and MadBum were big steals. Second round I think Beltre, Longoria and Zimmerman were great picks.

I was going to give Madj & MrMarcus **** earlier this year for giving me a little **** for saying Zimmerman was more of a #3 but has that dude had a coming out party this year.

JZimm :smokin unbelievable year from him. Wasn't victimized by the home run ball as much, raised his strikeouts, and only gave up 29 walks in 200 innings :wow: His FIP was only .02 off of his ERA, just an outstanding season. Too bad we didn't extend him before the season started :smh:

The main thing for me was the K's always being below 7 per 9 and the walks always being so close to 1.75 per 9. But with that uptick and the plummeting HR/FB rate, I've come to appreciate him more. I still have a hard on for Strasburg but that's another topic for another day

Honestly think i could of done way better with the 2nd pick of the draft, not saying kershaw (love this pick as #1 Ace) was a bad pick i just personally think throughout the draft i could of done better. I got alot of old guys out here and also went homer just a tad bit. My bullpen might get that work i am not to confident in them to finish strong if my pitchers goes 7 strong.

This will be very interesting to see how this plays out for my team i dont think i am the best in the league after looking at other teams but hey you never know what'll happen ill be cool with a Wild Card finish.

Cant wait till the SIM gets started

Your trio is as good as it gets for starting pitching. Kershaw is arguably the best SP in the game, at least for regular season play. Hamels can be a lead horse if needed, and Gallardo has put together 4 of 5 good seasons. He's good money as a #3, if you so choose that route.

Papelbon is usually loved or hated, but no disputing his effectiveness as a closer. One of the better relievers this year in the 9th, with others like Grilli, Frieri, etc. crumbling in the role.

Your offense is fairly balanced. Gardy and Ramirez had great seasons in 2014. Maybe their best seasons as professionals, although Ramirez had a monster 2010 as well. Both give a little pop with moderate speed.

At 34, Ryan Howard still has power left in his bat. 23 HR this season. Had a better first-half than expected before fizzling a bit.
