NT MLB Redraft Thread: May standings posted!

And for the record, I know this is something that would NEVER change.  I just think it has been wrong from the jump.

I was thinking about the same during our 20 team NT football draft

So, I have been thinking about this recently with all of the fantasy football drafts happening, and I think it could apply to this one too.....I think the snake order has it wrong.  The current setup is:

Round 1: ---->
Round 2:
Round 4:

And so on....

I really think that rounds 2 AND 3 should be reverse.  Like this:

Round 1: ---->
Round 2: (where it starts becoming a normal snake)
Round 5:

And so on.....

I just personally dont think that the person with the last pick having the #12 and #13 overall players make up for the fact that the person with the first pick gets the #1, # 24 and #25 guys.  I think it would be far more fair for the first pick to get #1, #24 and #36 and the last pick to have #12, #13 and #25.

Side 1: #1, #60, #61

Side 2: #30, #31, #90

Really?  Sorry JRS, I tried to explain my opinion as clearly as possible.

And I am not proposing changing anything on here, or on any of our fantasy leagues.  I am just saying I think the whole "snake style" draft needs some modifications to level the playing field more.

Your idea of going straight 1-30 and repeating this every round is probably the most unfair way humanly possible.

I could understand going 1-30 if we ever decide to draft again and go in order of our loser to our winner. I wouldn't agree with it but I could maybe see it.

The snake idea Dland proposed, I could see that as well.

I get what you're saying, but there's no reason that it would need to be round 2 and 3.

In theory, you could split the rounds, 25 rounds, at the halfway point jump to 12-13 as the flip/snake. Right?

That's how real drafts work. Obviously this is different because real drafts factor in the teams previous records, and we don't have that here.

However, I'm in favor of it here because we're drafting a whole roster. It would ensure that everyone has the same number of picks between their selections. More skill and different strategies would be used this way. Sure teams 1 and 30 might have a talent difference, but it would be as realistic as possible.

I see 1 and 60, 30 and 31, and 15 and 45 being way more unfair and causing a higher overall variance.

Edit: I'm just arguing for the sake of arguing and don't really care, just don't like how snake drafts don't happen outside of fantasy leagues.
