Cocoa bean farmers taste chocolate for the first time

idk how they could have been that ignorant about their work...

like, they never wonder to educate themselves on what happens to the product whose trade directly affects their life?

I was as excited as they were when he pulled out the second bar of chocolate!

Does anyone remember that video where the guy went to this uncontacted tribe and brought a mirror and matches?  It was incredible

My man, he makes 7 euros a day. I really doubt he could just go out and find information about what his Cocoa beans make.

If you ain't know, that's $9.39/day for a family of 10+.

dude said we complain we work so hard now we have a privilege to taste the result with a huge smile on his face

Speechless

So we should start paying more for chocolate in order for the big corporations to continue making millions and giving these guys a raise?

Get some tcho chocolate. They have an amazing relationship with cacao farmers. Can be pricey but it's delicious chocolate supporting a great cause.

Not necessarily. There are chocolate company's out there that have a great relationship with its cacao farmers. They are usually a bit more expensive but at the end it's worth the mark up price.

the big corporations could just take a little less, but we know that's never going to happen

repped, just an awesome video

think of how many other people in the world in other countries grow and produces items they dont know what they are or use? its crazy to think about after seeing this video.

And yet these people are still positive at the end of the day

Truly heartwarming

I wouldn't mind paying more money knowing that it goes towards fairer wages for these farmers, as well as any other farmers. The bad thing is that the price of chocolate is expected to rise anyway, and it's not because of fairer wages. =/

A glaring example of the broader injustice right here.
