Ok, this was bound to happen. The old thread got locked a year ago this month. A LOT has changed in the GM world, both on their end of production, and our end of understanding what it is. That being said, here are the RULES:

If you want to keep this thread open we must have a mature discussion, no use of profanity no personal attacks on another member. 

This is a quote from Meth that explains where Niketalk stands on this issue.

Notice that I just copy and pasted the rules from the first post of the last GM thread. I just deleted a parts that made the rules slightly more flexible.

Basically, while we can discuss websites and ebay sellers that are selling GM shoes, WE CAN NOT PROMOTE OR SUPPORT THE SITES/SELLERS THAT DO.

A lot has changed over the last year, so let's get to discussing and helping the new ones understand the differences between GM pairs and retail pairs.

AND REMEMBER TO KEEP IT CIVIL. Debating is fine, and encouraged. Personally attacking, is not.

Also, please don't use this thread as a personal avenue to get your own pairs legit checked. That's what the legit check forum is for. Feel free to post your own pairs up, but only as it relates to the current discussion at hand.

This thread can also be used to discuss common details we are noticing in each release as they come to fruition. (I.E.- when the concord 11 lows dropped, I would have noted that most GM pairs have a milkier sole, widow's peaks, etc. When Gamma 11's dropped, I would have mentioned puffy collars, phylon shape, etc.)

Seeing as how the Sport Blue 6's are coming up very soon, as well the black infrared 6's, here would be a good place to discuss the trends of GM versions of those shoes as well.

Any NikeID will only take a couple weeks because they are making one shoe per order. Not hundreds of thousands at a time like with the Infrared 6's.

Because a personal pair of shoes that are made on Nike ID are obviously going to take less time to create than hundreds of thousands of pairs of Jordan 6s. What's that hard to understand?

You only posted 1 pic, and it was a crappy one, into the shoe box. If you notice in the legit check forum, we ask for DETAILED pics from every angle. Not just one profile shot with the shoe still in the box, and another of the tag, You'll need more than that. 

And please, post your shoe in the legit check forum, with detailed pics. Don't post them here. Use your personal pics to make your point or ask questions in reguards to GM, but not to just legit check your shoe. That's what the legit check forum is for. 

However, we can use your pics to help us start noticing, and get a jump on what to look for as far as what a GM Infrared 6 looks like. 

It's in your best interest to just come to terms that you have a fake/GM pair of 6's, and learn from this experience. 100% guaranteed that shoe did NOT come from a legit source.

The dumbest, most igorant, in denial mofo in all the world. Stayed insisting that his GM 88 cement 3's had no differences vs retail pairs. Puffy collars so overstuffed that the collars were creased and buckled under the pressure, completely uneven cut of the EP, too bold EP, widows peaks. It was a really, really bad GM pair...and he wouldn't listen to any of it. It was this level of stubborness and ignorance that led to his exit from the forum. 

Never again will anybody with any sense, stare at a pair of GM 11's and say "It's da same shoe, b". Unless you wanna get laughed at.

This is the million dollar question. While some people will tell you GM=fake, others will argue that GM's are made in the same factory, with the same materials and by the same people that make the legit pairs. They just make some extra pairs and slip them out the back door. But it's really not that simple, there's a lot more going on.
Hopefully this thread can stay informative and help to educate members on how to avoid fakes and GM's.

Shoes are not authorized for sale by Nike/JB, therefore not a retail product, therefore not authentic.

There's no checks/balances if Nike isn't authorizing/QCing product. Do you trust a manufacturing plant that's selling bootleg items under the table for one of their biggest clients to be honest in terms of materials used? I don't.

If they were the same product/materials there wouldn't be as many tells as there currently are w/ fakes/GMs.

I deal with it in my work all the time. Clients (who a lot of times are financially strapped) want to save a few bucks and purchase unauthorized/unregulated RX meds from other counties. Supposedly made from the same active ingredients, and sometimes even are, but there's no regulation in place to monitor this. Thousands of deaths a year for something that is supposed to be "chemically formulated" the same way our FDA does.

Long story short...if a shoe is not authorized for retail sale by Nike/JB...they're not an authentic product.

Dude, little one, you AREN'T paying attention.

Nike ID's are made one shoe per order. You go on the site, order a pair with all your color and material choices and submit it. They receive your order for that ONE shoe, and start making it. After a couple of weeks your shoe is done, and they ship it out.

Infrared 6's:

They contract for hundreds of thousands of shoes to be made. They start production on 1000s of pairs at  a time. That entire batch takes months to complete. It's not one shoe per order like with Nike ID. Soooo, while thousands of Lebron 11 ID's are on instagram, only one was ordered at a time, by different customers, for every order. Get an order, make a shoe. Get another order, make another shoe. Get it?

Khaled does get seeded pairs from Jordan Brand, but he also gets fake GM shoes from a connect just like yours. Let me put it to you like this...the same people supplying your awesome ebay connect with Infrareds is also cooking up some 2009 space jams as we speak. 1000's of ebay sellers have great feedback because people like you purchase from the thinking they are getting the real deal and then give positive feedback.

Just because celebrities have money, doesn't mean they aren't buying GM shoes. In fact, that's EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE DOING. They might not even know what GM is. THey might think they are getting legit retail pairs early. 

The only people I would believe their early shoes are legit, are those that work directly for Nike/JB, or are sponsored by them. If I see Russell Westbrook wearing black infrared 6's 2 weeks before they come out, I'd believe they are legit retail pairs that he got early. There is a reason why you don't see sponsored athletes rocking Infrared 6's already...because LEGIT pairs don't exist/aren't released yet, even to sponsored athletes. 

So....while you might see Westbrook, or Ray Allen wearing sport blue 6's soon, you won't see them wearing Columbia 11's. It's too early for those, but maybe not too early for them to be rocking LEGIT Sport Blue 6's, which release at the end of this month.
