Waiting for the YouTube "sneakerheads" to get these in say they got it from there "connect"
Same connect that sold them these.

What does putting shoes on a pedestal have to do with anything? I used that analogy because it most directly relates to my own experiences and everyone else seemed to get the point. What I'm saying is Nike can put out absolute crap but they have a standards, guidelines, and regulations that they have to follow for something to be sold and distributed in the US. These bootleggers don't. Hence why they material properties are important. At work we use the same mold to make tons of different parts and even though they're all shaped the same what makes them different is the material they're made out of.

I don't care about what other people are wearing. Like I keep saying it's when people pass them off as authentic and the same is what I have a problem with.
I just re-read...you're an engineer.

Just to annoy you some more

...allow me to play devils advocate with you on the last statement.... In what capacity do mean "passing them off as authentic"?  If selling, I agree, but if folks are walking around with GMs, passing them off as real, that's there problem.

Also...the materials have been documented as being somewhat better than what JB/Nike puts out...if the build is your main argument, I still say that the people who buy shoes for their intended purpose are in the minority.

80 pound kids rock Jordans, 400 pound kids rock Jordans.

Obese people religiously rock flyknits and never as much as speed walk a day in their life.

I just feel we take ourselves too seriously.

We've become the women who use to clown other women for rocking fake LV, Gucci, etc.

Got it.

jd, you straight in my book.
Yeah that's what I meant, selling them as authentic. People can wear GMs all they want that's fine. There are just tons of sellers saying 100% authentic when they're not. As far as materials being better, according to who? What qualifies as better? All we know is that whatever Nike puts out is the standard. If they use something different you're not getting the same product. I can only speak from experience and from my experience things looking the same doesn't mean they are the same.

LOL at materials being better on GMs. If Jordan brand puts out garbage quality, then GMs are putting out SH!!!!T quality. It's worse man, don't try to sugar coat it.

I remember someone said that GMs age at 3 times the rate as authentics. How did they get to that conclusion?

Someone answer this please, so I know how long my Concords will last. I'll rebuy an authentic pair eventually, just not for 600

Nobody in here knows though my dude.
You're the first to actually admit to having a GM joint.
We've been trying to get pics here and there of GM's to no avail, so good like getting a NT'er to spit knowledge based on a firsthand experience.

Lol bro, I have no problem with my GM Concords. Sure, I would prefer to have my original pair, and I yeah I wish they never got stolen, but this replacement is good enough for me (casual wear). Now I wouldn't go around buying GMs on the regular, but having 1 pair in a collection full of authentics doesn't really bother me. I really don't see many differences besides the stretched out 23 and the minor widows peak, everything else seems the same as the pair I used to have, but everyone in here swears they're much worse quality so hey.

Mind posting a few pics of them? I've been wanting to look at GM pairs once they are worn and stuff to see how they hold up.

And I think a-friend was just saying that your one of the first people to actually say they they have/wear a pair of gms. Their aren't many pics in this thread lol

Yea some pics of your Concords would be dope AF jordanhead718212 jordanhead718212 . For comparison purposes and what not.

I think you also knew I wasn't clowning on you for the GM rather letting you know that just because you care none about what someone thinks about a GM that most owners of them are keeping it secret like they have legit pairs, so them giving info on how long they last is never going to happen.

Repped though for keeping it real.

If that was actually true I don't think there would be such a huge opposition. The fact of the matter is people claiming them as authentic and flooding the market with them when they are not. The LC proves they're not the same shoes they're consistently flawed and different and don't hold up the same as authentic shoes so the whole "same or better quality" argument isn't valid. You really think any real sneaker head is getting upset because someone got a knock off of the shoe they got? These GM shoes still cost $200. Who takes the bigger L here the guy that paid $200 for a shoe that has absolutely no quality control, shoddy craftsmanship, and questionable durability or the guy that paid $300 for the real deal without any worry for any of that? Seems Nike has a bigger hold on the people buying GMs then the guy paying 300 bucks cause they're laying $200+ just to LOOK like they have the real deal. At the end of the day people can buy what they want but don't try push the agenda that the shoes these rep sites are pushing out are the same as what we get in stores cause it's not. They're comparable at best, but they're still just imitations. Point blank period. It's like comparing aluminum to titanium. Sure they look and feel the same but titanium is 100 times stronger than aluminum.
Jd,

I think you read a little more into what I as saying.  I'm not pushing any agenda for any rep site or early release marketplace.  I'm talking from a witness stand point and having seen early release or GM up close in person, side by side an authentic pair.  The flaws that you now speak of are becoming more and more difficult to spot. This of course is based on the shoe.  The same or better quality statement is based on my personal experience and was not meant to be blanket statement for everyone. However, I'm sure opinions may vary.

However, you can't deny that quality amongst these GM pairs has been raised.  When you have to lift up a shoes insoles and check for a blue number or stitching pattern, clearly outside observation is no longer enough.  "Real" and "Fake" are becoming relative terms in the shoe market for some.

I get your analogy but it is fundamentally flawed.  We aren't talking about something that may be used to make a surgical screw (titanium) that may be implanted in someone's leg to heal a fracture.  We are talking about leather, glue, rubber and plastic that are worn on someone's feet.

People shouldn't resell shoes they know aren't purchased from legit retailer.  That's a thief move.  But if the shoe is being bought by them and for them then it's a non-issue.

'Preciate the dialogue brother.

I understand what you're saying but those properties are still important in the textile industry. Two materials can look the same and still be completely different especially when it comes to durability. Replicas have been doing it for years. Take the mesh on replica 11s and authentic ones. They look the same but when touched one is my coarser And stiffer than the other.

in 2011 i bought a 2nd pair of blue knicks spizike from soleawesome.com for 220 USD ex shipping

and when i got them they came in a plain jordan box without sizing sticker at the front

also the nike bag with the extra white laces was not included and also the shoe was stuffed with paper instead of a shoe tree

when i got them and i saw the box i already suspecting that i may have bought a unauthorized shoe
sick.gif

but i already got a pair from foot locker in amsterdam, so i compared the retail pair with the pair from soleawesome

and i couldnt find anything that was different compared to the retail pair

everything was the same from the production date at the sztag, the stitching, the color from the airunit

the soft suede what leaves a mark when you wipe over it with your fingers

the 3M mudguard, and the stitching underneath the insole

long story short, i contacted soleawesome to ask whats up with the plain box

and the laces and told him that he sold me fake shoes

the guy told me that the early shoes always come in those boxes and he guaranteed me that the shoes were authentic

and that if dont like them i can return them back for a refund, but i told him that im not planning to do that

and i threaten him that i gonna file a claim at paypal for selling me counterfeit shoes

so he offered to refund me the 40 USD shipping

but i didnt agree with his offer, at the end i extorted the 40 USD shipping and another 60 USD from him

so i end up getting my pair for 160 USD/120 euro what is even below the EU retail from 160 euro
happy.gif

ive deff learned my lesson i will never buy from these early sites anymore

even if they sell you a pair what looks exactly the same as the retail pairs from foot locker

i tend to find them too shady, something is just not right with these retailers what carries these early releases

so you're upset at getting the fakes ... yet you wanted to keep them real badly.

ok.

i kept them cuz i couldnt find any differences compared to my retail pair

and also the price for what i got them was quite reasonable, at the time the going rate for them was 280-330 USD

if i have find noticable differences compared to my retail pair i would've send them back

and at the time it was also very difficult to find them in a size 8,

but nonetheless im still happy with them and they even looked better than my retail pair lol
