The Oregon Ducks vs. power teams narrative is dead (again)

454822866.0.jpg

The "Oregon can't handle physical teams" narrative probably shouldn't have existed in the first place, but Marcus Mariota and the Ducks more than put it to rest by topping Michigan State's best shot.

The only sure thing about narratives is that they always show up. They might change at the drop of a hat (or after 60 minutes in Eugene), they might be fair or unfair, and they might last for years or minutes, but the one constant is that the narrative machine will continue cranking, every hour of every day.

When Michigan State took control of the game at Oregon early Saturday evening, all was right in the narrative world. But then the Ducks surged and changed both everything and nothing at the same time.

Since the start of 2008, Oregon is 69-12 and has won at least 10 games every year. Since the start of 2010, the Ducks are 49-6. They are on a run of six consecutive finishes in the AP top 11. No matter how you look at it, Oregon is one of college football's ruling powers at the moment.

@BruceFeldmanCFB: DMN is reporting that #SMU head coach June Jones will resign.

You could tell he wasn't into it anymore. His heart has always been in Hawaii, I wouldn't be surprised if they hire him back next season.

So the Wolverines suck, I guess I'll just place my hope in My Vols going to Norman and then Athens for our next two games *rimshot* :smh:

The only people who are happy about this are those that belong to the cult of Penn State. Many still believe the program did absolutely nothing wrong. One dude I know said that their missed bowl games were the darkest days in the programs history. Not the years of child rape.

you couldn't be more wrong; there are many people who find this as a victory over the NCAA for how corrupt they are

I went to PSU and stayed away for 3 years after all this went down because of how disgusted I was with it all but I am happy today

LOL

this isn't a "victory" against the NCAA, just another example of NCAA bull **** not making any sense. If anything YOU should be THANKING the NCAA for letting yall off the hook. Was a slap on the wrist to begin with anyway.

"lack of institutional control" they said.

Came back from the "riot". Still confused as to why that was necessary. 75% of these kids weren't here in 2011 when all these were going down after Paterno got fired smh. They didn't have to deal with the backlash of the stupidity that occured that night.

do work son do work son I don't even post in that thread anymore. Maybe twice in the last 3/4 weeks.

Be back when season starts

Block though, I mean it works if someone is "tanking threads". Silly boy
