So no one's going to answer my Jameis question? Or are y'all just going to continue the MM8 pissing match?

Interested to hear the takes.

CP :nerd:

He obviously had an amazing freshman year which bodes well, but I also wondered/worried if he got a lot of success of tossing it up Stafford style for Benji. Not to mention the rest of the talent around him.

But, just off the first game of the year, the throw he made to Greene in the middle of the field was impressive, and of course the TD scramble was absurd. :x But he also forced a lot more stuff in that game than he did last season. (maybe the coaches are trusting him to throw it around on his own more???)

He’s coming up behind what EJ did, and EJ hasn’t impressed me early in Buffalo, but I never ever expected him to even be a top end pick. I do think Jameis is better than Manuel, but that doesn’t mean a lot. Same as Marcus, he’ll easily get a top pick, but of the two, Jameis runs more of a standard offense than Marcus does, tho not entirely pro style. And he still benefits from a ton of talent around him, Oline, RB’s for days, solid TE, receivers grow on trees, etc. I think everything with Jameis will be reading defenses and reacting/anticipating. If he can do those things, his accuracy is closer to NFL ready than Marcus, and he has touch when he needs it, with both of them having arm strength.

One runs a spread and the system gives him windows to throw into the size of Arizona, the other has so much damn talent around him he could show up on game days in a bathrobe and slippers and still complete 50%. I don’t know if either situation makes one better than the other, just different I guess. But spread QB’s scare me off from college to Pro, until I start seeing guys truly take over with it. Kap and Alex Smith have both been good, but as I go down the list of the best QB’s in the NFL, they are all pretty much pocket guys. If you’re making me choose, I would say Jameis has a better chance than Marcus as of now, but that doesn’t mean I think Jameis is a sure thing either. Just that I like what I’ve seen of him, and the offense he runs at the college level. I just can’t picture Marcus in a pocket throwing 35 times a game in the NFL when the “open” windows are a corner is half a step apart from his man.

Between Jameis, Marcus, and Hundley, I just don’t like the top QB’s this year. But that doesn’t mean squat, I liked Barkley a lot, and I thought a good coach could have made Bray somebody, and I thought Logan Thomas was going to be Cam 2.0, so……

But I also loved Teddy, and he is by far better than these 3 to me, and Teddy got shellacked in the draft process for some reason. And he got picked behind freaking Manziel, and Bortles, so I have no idea what the hell is what anymore. Locker, Gabbert, Manuel, Sanchez, I just don’t get what they see sometimes. *shrugs*

They got release dates for these things now

Senator Holt says he was disappointed in Norman’s decision to keep us from making a copy of that video.

State Senator David Holt says, “This is 2014 and they’re forcing the media to describe orally a tape that they got to watch on our behalf today.”

But by the department’s interpretation of the law, they technically don’t have to make a copy.

Right now, current law states they must make the video available for public inspection not copying.

“Nothing is stopping them from giving you a copy,” says Holt. “This statute is permissive. They could give you the copy today, but what they’re claiming is they don’t have to until November 1.”

That’s because of a recent amendment  to the Open Records Act, which takes effect November 1st, that states they must make the video available for public inspection and copying.

Norman’s City Attorney’s office tells us they think releasing the video will affect Mixon’s right to a fair trial.

“This trial is not going to happen before November 1st,” says Holt. “It’s just a fact. No one believes the wheels of justice move that quickly.”

Although Norman Police won’t have a choice in a couple of months, Holt calls their actions a setback for transparency.

The Norman City Attorney’s office says anyone who files an open records act will be able to view the surveillance video before November 1st.

Joke of a decision by the administration.

Two current playoff QBs coming out of college:

Also, he plays in a very user friendly scheme where he throws to a lot of wide open receivers and it is unclear if he can fit the ball into tight windows. Will need some time to learn a more complicated offense.

Deeper throws will float at times when he does not set his feet. Played in a spread offense and will have to learn a pro style system.

Experienced, competitive, productive and durable but very raw in terms of making NFL reads and throws. Will need to become accustomed to making pro-style progressions and must improve overall accuracy.

Plays out of the pistol, lacks experience under center. Has not been asked to make NFL progressions and reads. Not quick to check down or hit hot read against the blitz. Misses too many short passes. Doesn't have consistent touch on the deep ball. Release is somewhat elongated and can dip down to sidearm at times.

Just sayin'... not everyone needs to be Andrew Luck. Remember how bad Matt Ryan's deep ball accuracy was, and that he was 'the next Chad Pennington'?

/shrug

Half of how successful a player is on the next level has to do with the team and system he's drafted into (imo).

Hearing we may be getting some rough news about a fan favorite. Not naming names, just prepare your disappointed emojis.

Rumor has it that Noah Spence got dismissed

Yep, Certainly explains why EJ threw for similar #'s that Jameis did

Gameday coming to Tally for the FSU/Clemson game. Surprised, figured they'd go to Tuscaloosa for the UF/Bama game
