Former USC WR Victor Blackwell Arrested For Domestic Violence
Posted on October 10, 2014 by Scott Wolf

Former USC wide receiver Victor Blackwell was arrested this week on suspicion of domestic violence following an incident at the University Gateway Apartments with his girlfriend, who reported to campus security that Blackwell “punched her several times in the face during an argument and threw a chair at her.

“The boyfriend also smashed her laptop computer and cellular phone on the floor and punched several holes in a door when she retreated into her bedroom and closed it. The second student was detained by DPS officers, then he was arrested and transported to 77th station for booking.”

Blackwell is currently at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s inmate reception center with bail set at $50,000. Blackwell quit the football team after the Boston College game and was officially removed from the roster this week.
Umm...

[Gold represents USC fans; blue areas are Bruins fans]

In Los Angeles, there are fewer rivalries more intense than USC vs. UCLA football. And yet this map from the New York Times seems to suggest that, while the rivalry is intense, there's no contest when it comes to sheer numbers of fans. The map is based on Facebook "likes" in each zip code and, though it's much smaller and has way fewer alumni, USC has a lot more supporters, with a fan base extending far beyond LA County, out into Riverside County and up to Kern County. By comparison, UCLA fans are mostly clustered in a small section of the Westside surrounding the campus. How is this possible? No idea, but according to the map, even among people in the same zip code as UCLA, only 38 percent are Bruins fans; 18 percent are still Trojans all the way. That's gotta sting.

 • An overview of USC and UCLA's fans

 • Of those who share a zip code with UCLA, only 37 percent root for the team. This is also the zip code with the most UCLA fans.

 • Of those who share the same zip code as USC, 57 percent cheer the Trojans.

 • Superfans of USC in Boyle Heights. (Zip codes for South Gate and Bell Gardens tied with BH at 48 percent.)
