JH and all his staff have been saying they would rather be about it than talk about... Best ammo is winning... Urban is the top dog coaching and thats all that matters head to head right now

Edit -

re: the thread title, isn't Bama the #1 Class according to the composite rankings?

Good catch Dre... Must have been thinking of the former UM db.

The thing about the Cass Tech pipeline, as previously mentioned, it hasn't produced much. Maybe with Harbaugh and co. in place that'll change and these kids will develop but as of right now, it would be hard to really be disappointed with losing the Cass Tech pipeline. The most productive player from Cass Tech was the guy that went to LSU, right? Barksdale?

Per a couple sources, LSU grad assistant Sean Patterson is no longer on staff. He's expected to take a job at Ole Miss.

I've been saying for months that I think Ole Miss leads for his younger brother Shea Patterson, who is Louisiana's top-ranked QB in 2016. It wouldn't surprise me to see him shut things down at some point this spring for the Rebels.

Of course, LSU still has a commitment from Florida's Feleipe Franks, who is the No. 1 dual-threat quarterback in the country.

Hope Miami promotes Kareem Brown .
Young guy ,miami guy.. been in the league etc

Maybe Kevin Patrick

They're hiring a HC after NSD?
yep, Enos unexpectedly left to be Arkansas's OC two weeks ago.

They should have either ponied up the money for Azzanni or hired Tony Annese.

WMU is the power MAC program in the state now.

Im surprised Annese didnt get it. Word around the state is he was a strong candidate for it. Hes doing a good job at Ferris

Lions ST coach? Thank God. They were awful this season. Feel bad for the Chips. Agree that Anesse should have gotten it.

Up until yesterday when it was announced he was going to get promoted, I honestly thought it was going to be Azzanni since CMU was waiting until after NSD to make the hire.

As a Lions fan I'm happy he is gone, but I feel sorry for CMU.  Bonamego's been out the CFB game since 99, and has been a mediocre to terrible ST's coach for the majority of his time in the NFL.

Hopefully for Annese's sake he gets the WMU job when PJ bolt's for the B1G, not the EMU job when it opens up again.  That job is a coach killer.
True Composite Recruiting Ranks & Stats

2015 Team Class Rankings Profiled

Breaking Down the Class by Rank, Points and Trends
As you know, I have been using recruiting ranks and attrition for over a decade for the best game by game pre-season prediction model in college football.  Last year, using recruiting, attrition, Coach Effect and Stadium Power rankings, my game by game picks, done in March and April, were just 7 games off of the week by week favorites of Las Vegas sports books.

This is  a breakdown of the three top team recruiting ranking services, not just in a side by side format to show you each ranking service numbers, but it breaks teams down by average total points, average rank, their previous four years true composite rank and the difference in 2015 versus the previous four cycles.

What is:
True Point Composite Rank:  If you notice on team rankings, there is a point total from the ranking service.  I simply give all those points a common denominator and add them up.  I feel this is the best way of looking at overall talent value acquired as the point difference between the #10 and #11 teams for Rivals may be significant but if you use only the rankings, they are only one spot apart.  You will see most are very close, but sometimes you see a big gap like Clemson that has the #10 team ranking average but #13 on total points.

True Rank Composite: This model has been the original composite ranking since 2005, and I say it is a true composite as it averages the teams and does not apply some ‘secret’ in-house algorithm.  That does not help reduce potential bias in the services.

Previous 4 Year Average Class:  This is the average class ranking of each team over the previous four seasons.  This helps create the 4 year versus 2015 class difference.  I love looking at trends and see who really stepped up beyond the norms in a given recruiting cycle.   Teams in dark green had a class 10 or more spots above their four year average.  Light green are teams that were 0-9.5 spots above average.  Light red, 0-9.5 spots BELOW average and dark red are teams that really had a poor class compared to the last four years.

Scout, 247 and Rivals:  These are the rankings right from their sites as of 3am, February 5th so you may see some changes in the next few days.  The rankings that are highlighted in the GREY are off from the average ranking by over 5 spots.  Most of the top 50 teams are pretty close but there are certainly some wonky numbers.  Florida State is the first example with an average point and ranking of no. 5 but Scout has them at no. 11 and Rivals at no. 3.  Clemson at no. 10, no. 15 and no. 4 is even more ‘off’.  At an initial glance it would appear that Scout deviates the most from the average rankings.

Why I don’t use ESPN rankings: (a) In the recent past, they only went 25 teams deep so there were 100+ teams missing. (b) They only recently went to 40 teams, now 75 and are still short on evaluations. (c) Their staff for recruiting is limited and they focus on NFL potential versus a great CFB player and (d) with their ownership of the SEC football market, that is a potential bias that exceeds the other bureaus that I just don’t need in calculations.
