Article from Thursday that I missed. My favorite part is "unsolicited".
ATL offered Ulbrich during the 48 hr. no call period.
As soon as the 48 hour period was over Ulbrich called all recruits with the fact that he had received an unsolicited offer from ATL to be the LB position coach during the 48 hour no call period and that he would evaluate the offer. Mora also called to affirm that he wants Ulbrich to stay.

If any player wants out of their LOI, Mora will let them out so long as they go outside the PAC-12. Mora has already both expressed this in public since he got to UCLA and it has already happened. Unlike Notre Dame's coach, Mora doesn't try to "force" kids to stay.

The offer was made by ATL to Ulbrich during the 48 hour period, not before.  The fact that Ulbrich called as soon as the period was lifted and explained to Smith that ATL had made him an unsolicited bid is on record from Smith's coach in an interview.

"Someone" leaked the offer on social media before the end of the 48 hour period which is how/why Smith found out before Ulbrich's call to him. Smith is also on record that he found out about ATL's interest in Ulbrich from social media first.

Best of Luck to both Smith and/or Ulbrich whatever it is that happens.

Personally, I think Ulbrich stays. He makes ~$500K a year as UCLA's DC and enjoys a good relationship with Mora and Mora wants him to stay.

he already took the ATL job and you can thank some UGA alum that works from the Flacons that leaked the info to them about them wanting him. so they took that and told smith

Mora has already interviewed Rocky seto, Clancy Pendergast and is going to talk to Jim Haslett today

Clancy? He's on the 49ers already doe. Or is he gonna quit that job after less than a month? that'd be interesting considering he said he hates recruiting/the limitations of college.

Either way, y'all love your SC alums.

exactly why most don't see mora offering him the job and/or Clancy even wanting it in the 1st place.

mora loves guys from the NFL could care less what school they went to .

You said it was just a rumor tho.

Heh.

Roquan is the only recruit concerned about Ulbrichs departure based on what I've been reading and he's using the opportunity now to see if he wants to still commit. The fact that he hasn't taken the Georgia offer in all this time should say alot about how he feels about wanting to leave.

And Ulbrich wasn't his main recruiter and point of contact. It's someone still on staff.

He should just join the Maize & Blue, then. Durkin needs to seal the deal.
