From what I saw of him dude was too good to not play D1. Was it just grades the entire time or did he settle into the juco world and decide it was best for him?

Still can't believe Hoke and his crew thought he wasn't tall enough to be an OT or stout enough to be an OG. But considering their abortion of an OL for the last 3 years I can see it.

Grades, he was supposed to transfer to Hawaii but didn't qualify.

Los Angeles police say they have recovered O.J. Simpson's 1968 Heisman Trophy that was stolen from display case at USC in July 1994.

How does FSU look for next year if Jameis stays/goes?
On offense they lose O'leary, Greene, Karlos and most of the o-line. On defense it looks like they will lose both corners, Mario Edwards and Eddie Goldman.
Don't know how the new line would be. If Jameis goes I have no idea who would start, looked shook and no one else has any experience.
Crunching USC's scholarship numbers for 2015
USC’s NCAA sanctions are over, but we’re not done talking about scholarship numbers.

Because the penalties were so egregious, they will continue to impact the program for several more seasons. (Send all thank-you notes to The National Collegiate Athletic Association, 700 W. Washington St., P.O. Box 6222, Indianapolis, Ind., 46206-6222.)

Below I’ve projected what the roster will look like next season. Please bear in mind that these figures are unofficial, are based on what we know of the current roster and assume the following:

* That redshirt-junior tailback Buck Allen will enter the 2015 NFL draft (I expect this to happen any day now).

* That no one else declares for the draft.

* That no one will transfer or have to retire from football because of a career-ending injury (there’s always some form of attrition; it’s just impossible to predict).

* That USC will add the full allotment of 25 newcomers.

Also keep in mind that there are two separate categories in tabulating scholarship players: total scholarship players, which includes walk-ons who’ve earned scholarships; and recruited scholarship players. Assuming they remain on scholarship, USC should have three of the former next season: senior defensive back Ryan Dillard, senior receiver George Katrib and redshirt-sophomore placekicker Matt Boermeester (aka, the blueshirt).

So based on all those factors, here’s my projection:

2015 USC ROSTER

Total scholarship players: 81

Recruited scholarship players: 78

BY CLASS

Redshirt seniors: 14

Seniors: 5

Redshirt juniors: 7

Juniors: 8

Redshirt sophomores: 7

Sophomores: 11

Redshirt freshmen: 7

Freshmen: 22

Again, it’s pretty unlikely everyone who’s on the roster now will be on it come fall. Stuff happens.

Let’s say, for the sake of argument, that USC loses five players between now and then. That would bring the numbers down to 76/73.

Looking ahead to 2016, USC stands to lose 19 seniors. Among players who will be redshirt sophomores/juniors/redshirt juniors next season, only one, Su’a Cravens, seems like a strong bet to enter the draft early.

So the total for 2016 – in a realistic/best-case scenario – would be 81 (76 – [19 seniors + Cravens] + 25 newcomers). Factor in the five-player "attrition" margin for error, and it's back to 76. More than half the roster would be freshmen and sophomores either way.

All in all, as USC coach Steve Sarkisian is fond of saying, it’s not that bad. Thoughts?

Van will be taking his official visits instead of enrolling early at UGA
Empty visit to TAMU coming soon. I don't really know why we're still recruiting receivers. At this point it should be Lodge/Merritt or bust. Much greater needs on the defensive side of the ball. But Van looks awesome, so no harm in showing him what we got and seeing what can happen in case we miss on the two aforementioned offensive targets.

A&M bound.
So many mixed feelings on this guy. It's so hard to turn down a 5-star talent like Willis...but looking at what happened in the past offseason (particularly with Golden and Claiborne), and seeing that Speedy pretty much got caught up with those two early on and had a blind eye turned to him (he was supposedly stopped with those two with weed in the car while parked in a handicapped spot and was let off with a very stern warning), I'm not sure how I feel about another problem kid coming around...seems like we got a really good thing in Speedy and he's getting his head on straight and focusing on football. He doesn't need another distraction coming around to possibly get him caught up. And it would especially look weird after Richardson just got booted from the program for hitting kids on the sideline. But Willis is really talented and could definitely help us in 2016, especially if we manage to bring in Daylon Mack. A defensive front of Myles Garrett, Daylon Mack, Zaycoven Henderson and Gerald Willis would be absolutely filthy. Just don't feel good about Willis idly being around the program for a year.

Same exact feeling goes to Zach Whitley as well. As good as he could be, I don't know how I feel about the possible distractions that could be caused by bringing him on board.

Those two would undoubtedly help on the defensive side of the ball, but only way I bring them on is by saying "You're starting with two strikes - Strike 1 is choosing against us in the first place, Strike 2 is getting pushed out of the program you chose to go play for. Strike 3 is the slightest bit of ******** you could possibly think of even getting into." Gotta keep guys like that on an extremely short lease, especially with Strong trying to push defensive players to come play for him and his "core values."

In the end, I don't think either would even be worth pursuing or bringing in...but I guess that's up to Sumlin to decide. [/end long-winded Dr. Funk-style rant]

And SneakerPro...if you don't go to the game, let's get together for the game. Wouldn't mind shooting the **** with you and giving you crap for the Cowboys game last weekend
