Thread title says it all ^

I'm working with a Vizio LED (model E320-B0E in case anyone is familiar/needs specifics), trying to hookup my N64 that I found during cleaning up my room.

Called Vizio for assistance, they couldn't help and think it's because the system is so old and not compatible with these newer HDTV's.

Does anyone know if there are any outside cables I can purchase that will work as the middle man of sorts to get my N64 up and running?

Reps and internet bro fists to anyone who helps.

^ make sure your N64 works with another TV first.

you just plug in the red/yellow/white and the electrical outlet. All LEDs should have this.

Then make sure your on the appropriate selection: HDMI, TV etc.

got my super nintendo out cleaning my room today too

LEDs both in my room and living room. My bedroom t.v. is newer than the living rooms. I'm getting no video/no audio in my room but audio/no video in the living room.

I'm thinking it's because Vizio is a newer(ish) brand and because the t.v.s themselves are only a few years old each, that they aren't recognizing the N64 as operable.

Since the signals coming from the N64 are analog, I don't think the TV is able to determine whether or not the N64 is operable. It might be a problem with the cable.

that sounds impossible

your RCA connections either work or don't work.

there's no "oh, i don't know what an N64 is, won't display it"

Most flats still have RCA cable inputs. Some of the newest tvs leave them out though. In that case you'll have to buy a converter.

If you're getting audio, no video. I think you've plugged the component cables in the wrong ports. Red goes in red, White in white, Yellow in yellow. Just getting audio means you have 1 of the three in the correct port(s).

I actually need to know this too...I'm showing my homie No Mercy when he comes through tomorrow.

The yellow wire is the most important (video) just plug it in the matching yellow colored component port.

Took this earlier today, will take another without any cables in if need be later tonight when I get back home.

Have you tried connecting the yellow cable where the green cable is currently connected? Also, make sure the red cable you have is connected to the end and not the middle.

This is the correct answer after looking at some of your tv models I/O
It's labeled "Y/V" on your tv for the yellow.
Then audio red/white goes on the far right.

Select correct input on tv and you should be good to go
