NFL Predictions Vol. 2014

You said that Alex Smith will 'outplay in every objective way'' Andrew Luck, right?

Let's make this bet even better!

If Alex Smith surpasses Andrew Luck in passing yards, passing touchdowns, completion percentage, yards per completion, wins, and QB rating, I'll give you $299. All you have to give me is $20*

*Barring injury, of course.

Your bold prediction against mine. What do you say?
Deal
Great bet Chester.  I mean, all Andrew Luck (the far superior QB) has to do is outperform Alex Smith in ONE statistical category for you to win the bet?  This is as close to a lock as humanly possible.

Can I hop on this bet too?

Yall do realize if Alex Smith didn't sit out the 16th game last year I could have won this bet last year right?

For the life of me I can't figure out where this Andrew Luck is already a great quarterback ******** is coming from.

Alex Smith threw the same amount of touchdowns, had the same number of wins, had a higher completion percentage, and a higher quarterback rating than the Great Andrew Luck despite playing one less game.

Andrew Luck

REGULAR SEASON STATS 343 570 3,822 60.2-Comp % 6.71-Yards per Attempt 23 Tds 9 Ints 87.0-QB Rating 16 Games

Alex Smith

REGULAR SEASON STATS 308 508 3,313 60.6-Comp % 6.52-Yards per Attempt 23 Tds 7 Ints 89.1-QB Rating 15 Games

In the Final game of the Chiefs regular season the Chiefs played the 22 ranked defense in the NFL. Alex Smith and most of the Chiefs starters didn't play that game.

For you dudes to think that its absurd that Alex Smith could produce better numbers than Andrew Luck just shows how far up Andrew's *** you dudes are.

I hate the colts and their franchise.

But Luck was also playing with a lot less.

A shoddy Oline, a defense that had holes. Trent Richardson.

TY Hilton and 5 games of Reggie Wayne is better than all the WRs on the Chiefs.

Jamal Charles is Jamal Charles but let's not act the Chiefs were loaded.

For the record I like Andrew Luck but when CP called that dude Troy Aikman he handed the ball off a bunch and made a few throws then **** all over Russell Wilson for doing the exact same thing I was done.

Andrew Luck is going to be really really good but it hasn't happened yet.

Jamaal Charles had more receiving touchdowns than anyone on the Colts.

He also had as many rushing touchdowns as Andrew Luck, Donald Brown, and Trent Richardson combined.

Hell, he only caught 12 less balls than TY Hilton.

A loaded defense

A strong Oline

A great running game

Those are all the opposites that Luck had.

That loaded defense was food every time they played quarterback that wasn't a backup

Eric fisher was one of the worst starters in the Nfl

A rookie OL struggling?

*shocked face*

Hell even Chester gave you the stats.

I'm not one of these Andrew Luck fans that thinks the dude walks on water, but he's a very good QB.

I'm trying to figure out when I said he wasn't peoples panties just get in bunch because him and Alex Smith have similar numbers.

Never understood how a QB gets penalized for playing with a good defense, as if that has any barring at all on the quarterbacking itself. It's only used to discredit the player.

It's not being "penalized" per say.

But if your an average QB and have a great defense behind you, you have more room for error cause they are going to get the stop and going to get the ball back.

But the defense still has no direct impact on what the QB goes out there and does. I understand the argument you're making, but I just think it's unfair to the quarterback to say part of his success comes because of guys who aren't even on the field when he plays.

Sneaker pro dude is absurd when comparing the two, it's apples to oranges bro, Andrew luck had reggie, Dwayne Allen and Vick Ballard all go out last year, plays with one of the worst olines in the game and had no production from the running game what so ever... Jamal Charles is one of the top players in the league and attracts a lot of attention and that takes a lot off Alex smith... Luck does have a lot more weapons this year and I fully expect him to have a big leap in his numbers this year, but honestly all I care about is winning games and honestly that's all luck has done in his first 2 years...

Defense has a lot to do with making a qb look good, turnovers give qbs great field position and in turn help put points on the board, also having a good defense takes less pressure off of the offense so the qb doesn't have to force a lot of throws to extend drives.. Anyone who thinks the defense has no impact on the qb or offense doesn't know what they are talking about... It has a huge impact, **** I wish the colts fielded a top 10 defense that would make luck that much better...

Great QB's can make a defense look good too though. Being up in the game all the time allows a defense to do way more scheme-wise because they're not as worried about taking risks when it's a 2-3 possession game constantly. Obviously if you have trash pieces on D it won't cover that but i think we've seen a few times a team put good defensive numbers without the most talented players on D because of what they can do in accordance with the score.

I need to know how the Indianapolis Colts offensive line is hands down worse than Kansas City's,.

And I need something more than one of you dudes just saying there are.

Same can be said about a poor defense that relies on a great offense to carry them, no? They feed off each other, hence why it's said football is the ultimate team sport. Nobody is saying the defense doesn't have an impact, but what does the defense have to do with a quarterback's ability to take advantage of the turnovers and field positioning? Nothing, they sit on the bench and hope that the offense can make plays. And if it were that simple, you wouldn't have guys like Andy Dalton who have great defenses, but constantly find ways to **** it up for the team. Having a great defense doesn't meant anything if you can't take advantage of it. That's just the game.

Have an Avg at best left tackle in Costanzo (it hasnt been the same since Tarik left in 07 :frown: ), Donald Thomas our LG tore his quad and we are going to have a rookie (Mewhort) start there, Khaled Holmes ****** up his ankle versus the Jets and now we have either Jonnathan Harrison or AQ "I fall on the floor and make believe I'm hurt" Shipley starting, and then on the right side we have a second year starter with Hugh Thornton and the only solid part of the OL at right guard, Gosder Cherilus.

Not much to be hopeful about.

I'm scared for Luck.

Eagles will field a top 3 offense again this year.

Brady god will throw for 4500 and 35 TD's

Either the ******** or Giants, possibly both, finish with 5 wins or less.

Saints win the Superbowl.

49ers miss the playoffs.
