I did the same thing in 2013. Got one Sunday ticket and figured I'd get in the door to prepare myself for the following year. Only made one mistake in that I brought my wife. If you're not a fan of crowds (she isn't), then comic-con can be very overwhelming for you. Went last year with my brother and had a blast.

As far as tips go, bring water, some cash and camera to take pics. Also, try to plan out where on the show floor you want to visit. If you just walk around with no specific place in site you'll get distracted very quick. If you're there for the weekend then I suggest you hit a bar or club at night (gaslamp is always poppin), and try to check out some of the stuff outside of comic-con. I personally would skip panels, as depending on the panel you want to see you could be waiting in line for a long time.

Oh, and don't be mad if the Funko line is super long, because it will be.

Plan is for my GF and her friend to drop me off and pick me up at the end of the day and drive back to LA afterwards. Yeah, I wanna buy as much merchandise as I can. Lol. I figure the lines for the panels and screenings/previews will be super long and give me a chance to scoop some stuff up. I've been to D23, and I went to Fit Expo in LA this year and those lines were long. Gotta get my feet wet and go beast mode next year if I get lucky again. Is it true that people who get tickets before get an advanced chance to order tickets the following year?
 
Man, I want the Blood Splatter Rorschach so bad, but they're all $100 plus. Trying not to spend crazy amounts of money on these but it's so tempting.

I need that GOT Blu-ray exclusive too. That burnt Khalessi and bloody Drogo is cool!
 
I've been to Cons in the past and was big on heroclix back then and the line to get exclusives pretty much wastes half of your day and it feels like it isn't worth it unless you are there for the whole weekend.
 
Regarding SDCC, honestly plan to not even get in the Funko booth when they're selling exclusives.  You'll have to buy them from the different vendors around the exhibit who were able to buy a few before everyone else.

In such a small time I've accumulated about 14 POPs, since maybe November. I'm tying to limit myself to 2 a month. It's not working. :smh:

Every time I go to HT or BN, there's never any Batman's. I've told myself I'm sticking to Batman only. Not getting wrapped up in another universe...

Maybe Vikings...

And Game of Thrones...

I try to stick to Batman and Wolverine. Otherwise I could see myself having way too many of these. I know the struggle. Especially when I bought a few TWD pops. I told myself I need to complete the series. That's when I had to narrow it down.
 
Wish I could find a Wolverine locally. My favorite comic book character and I don't have a Pop figure of him yet, :smh: . Hate I was so late on these.

Might cop The Delorean w/Marty and Doc today, go ahead and get that set out the way.

I got it direct from Marvel end of last year during a sale. Not there now but they have a few others available if anyone is interested. If you are a collector and don't want the box to be damaged then stay away. Had a banged up Pop box one of the three. I take them out the box so doesn't bother me.

What I do is I go to HT.com n BN.com and just order to pick up at store.

When HT has a flash sale I'll order and have it shipped to store...

I am currently over 30deep since dec... SMH... Lol

harlemtothebronx harlemtothebronx yea man I've picked up some HT exclusives like that and it was free shipping to a store and BN will text you when they have it then you go to the register and pay.. That's how I scored all my older Batman joints.

My local Hot topic just received they're shipment of AOU yesterday, they had em behind the counter. I was only planning to pick up SS goku and a storm trooper to paint, ended up copping more than I planned. I can check B&N today after work if they have any night wings left.
