I need help identifying my father's old Nike sneakers!

Hi NIKETALK,

I posted on /r/Sneakers (Reddit) attempting to find out what shoes these were.

The backstory: I was going through my father's old pictures and saw him wearing a pair of Nike sneakers. When I knew him he only ever wore boots so it was kind of surprising to me. I wouldn't mind having a pair of my own to be like him but I have no idea where to start looking, or if they even exist anymore. This picture is from the 1980's or 90's. Any help finding them is much appreciated!

Obviously they probably don't make these shoes anymore but I'd really like to know what they are and get some close to it. I've always been an adidas guy but seeing a picture of my dad wearing Nike's has changed my mind (It is so rare for him to wear something other than boots and I think that's awesome).

Please let me know, sorry about the terrible quality picture.

I did some digging for you, I narrowed it down to these two. I strongly think they are the Trainer 2's though... Good luck mang, you gonna need it to find them.

Wow, thank you so much for the help! It means a lot. I doubt I will be able to find a pair but it is neat seeing what he wore back then. I really appreciate your help and digging.

Your pair seems to have the small plastic square with 4 lace holes. The pairs posted by BigTy23 have 2 and 3.
I think those are it!! Does anyone have ANY idea where at all I could find these at? Or even a more modern version of them? I believe my next pair of shoes will be Nike, instead of Adidas, and I'd really like to have as close to the same pair as my dad had as possible.
Yea those seem to be them, so many models look the same from the 80's and 90's...
I've noticed that, crazy!
