Dress code @ Home, if you live with others

Inspired by the freeballing thread

This thread is for those that don't live by themselves

If you room with friends, siblings, live with family, have a family of your own that you live with etc.

What is the consensus on dress codes within the confines of your home?

It's summer, it's sweaty hot. Your roommate is in his sweaty boxers sitting on the couch that both of you share.
That's one example.

Another example: you live with your siblings. Should you be allowed to freeball.

Depends on how close you are to the people you live with. Its subjective.

For example:

When living with teammates on a popular sports team, you'll probably see a lot more than just sweaty boxers, especially if your school has Locomotive Studies. :nerd: Being shirtless and in shorts around those dudes wouldn't be a big deal. One of my past team/roommates ROUTINELY walked around in just a towel/boxers. No one really liked it in the house, but it was never a big deal.

Versus

When living with assigned roommates as an underclassmen, you all probably won't be the best of friends. Most roommate situations like that are cordial, but people typically aren't taking liberties like they would with someone familiar -- people who do are typically labeled as bad roommates. To come back from class to see your fedora donning, mountain dew sipping roommate on the futon in nothing but boxers probably isn't going to be received well.

It just depends.

All year it's hoop shorts and at least a t - shirt. Throw on a hoodie during winter. But that's only in the common areas. Moms used to get mad when I tried to eat at the table with no shirt.

Basketball shorts and tees

If its really could in the winter I throw on some sweat pants

shorts and a tshirt should be straight and no socks of course

the real question is do you wear whatever when guests come through

When it's me and my fiancee..................boxer briefs or lounge pants only. When company is over............shorts and t-shirt.

What cracks me up is when people get dressed up to stay in.

Sweat shorts, shirt (no shirt if it's really hot)

Even if I have company over for Football, I still aint dressing up...I'm going to be comfy in my house.

livin in the basement, so i wear what i want down there b/c I'm stackin

I never understood the dudes who would do a WDYWT with jeans and shoes on and put "lounging around the house."  How can you be comfortable in your house with jeans an shoes on?

If I'm lounging around the house, it's basketball shorts and an undershirt (vest).

I urge my kids to dress appropriate due to respect regarding family. Had to school my 13 yr old daughter from wearing short shorts and a spaghetti top around her brothers and uncles.

I just realized its been years since ive walked around the house naked.

The minimum for me are boxers. If there are others around its a tee and basketball shorts.

This is what I'm getting at

It's the respect that you show others.
