Overrated Restaurants...

Not from LA, but have lived there for 4 years.

I'll admit, the chicken is average (gravy puts it above average) ... but waffles are crack tho.

@Nawzlew  The last time I went a few years ago my dude, the waffles tasted like straight dough and the chicken was extra greasy. I'm glad your

experience was good. I just can't get down with Roscoe's anymore.

I've had maybe one or two good experiences with the chicken. For me it's usually on the dry side.

Idk, real hit or miss.

Was eating a cheesesteak today,

and thought of the time I went to Pats and Ginos in Philly

Most overrated hyped up cheesesteaks I ever had.

Literally, every decent sub shop near me can make a 10x better cheesesteak

Couldn't believe I went out of my way on my way to DC to eat there

You must live in a city with crap Mexican food
Chipotle is Chipotle. I don't think most people in here mistake Chipotle for authentic Mexican food. That's like saying Panda Express is authentic Chinese food.

Chipotle is :pimp: It hits the spot if I want a healthy burrito. If I want that heavy, home cooking Mexican meal I'll hit up my local joint or trucks on the side of the road.

I also can't hate on their farm to table ideal too. Everything is local and fresh from Chipotle.

Dinosaur BBQ, Peter Luger, Katz's Delicatessen, Wolfgang's Steakhouse, and I also want to throw in Magnolia Bakery just because. Gave they places a second and third chance and was still disappointed. Le hype train.

People that say chipotle sucks because there's other better authentic Mexican good need to chill. Chipotle is white washed Mexican food. It's damn good, along with the authentic Mexican places.

I've always felt eerie when people call chipotle healthy. You can tell yourself that, but it's really not. High sodium, high fat, high carbs.

With all that being said, if you get a bowl at chipotle.. Stop with that female stuff. Double wrap burrito with everything in it is that fuego

I've only been to Peter Luger once and someone paid for me. I thought the food was great. I ate steak until I couldn't move.

 at thinking Chipotle is healthy. I guess their marketing is working

A chicken burrito with brown rice and black beans is still 800 calories, 25 grams of fat and 1425 mg of Na

That's without sour cream or guac

Overrated =/= Bad

Hell I like In N Out and will defend it when people say it's trash but I still think it's overhyped/overrated when folks act like it's perfect (In N Out still >> 5 guys)

Besides the lower price, what exactly is better about In N Out?

Serious question.

I personally think that a double double animal style simply tastes better than anything you can get at 5 guys. I tried a lot of different combinations at 5 guys and while some were good nothing topped In N Out for me

BTW my point wasn't to trash 5 guys but to show that I'm not saying it's overrated to simply argue for 5 guys or another burger spot

I guess I had just set the bar too high for In N Out.

Like I said earlier in the thread, I've heard about it for years but never tried it until a week or two ago here in Texas and was completely unimpressed. Didn't have nearly as much taste as what I'd get at Five Guys - and the fries...? No comparison.
