***WNBA Thread*** 2016 SEASON STARTS TONIGHT ON ESPN!! (supporters only!)

This thread is appreciated. Truly mean it when I say I watch every sport. Had the pleasure of covering historic UConn women's basketball. Dolson was bae. In years past, upset Sky Digg never got her ring at ND. Enjoyed the Schimmel sisters upsetting and taunting Baylor and Griner. Jude is bae #2. EDD snubbing UConn to stay close to her sister. Odyssey Sims nice at point.

Remember the days of Rebecca Lobo, Lisa Leslie, Tina Thompson, Sheryl Swoopes.

Sheryl Swoopes :pimp: :pimp: :pimp:

I think Maya Moore might go down as the Jordan of woman's basketball. She's fun to watch and does it so effortlessly.

Chamique Holdsclaw's WNBA career was a bit disappointing considering all the hype she got in college.

Until further notice, the best player in WNBA history is Cynthia Cooper.

I can definitely see Maya Moore surpassing eventually if her career trajectory continues like this.

agreed

moore coming though

^ Same here. Totally remember the whole "We got next" campaign, and I was amped about the Sparks. Didn't know exactly how the hell green matched purple/ gold, but whatever.

As far as greats go, it's tough to argue someone topping Coop. Chick straight up dominated, especially towards the end of the game.

And then Swoopes, which is why the Comet came out as a dynasty from the JUMP.

Then I go Taurasi, honestly. Been watching her since UCONN, and she IS... basketball.

I gotta go w/ my girl Leslie after that. Not quite Shaq status as far as MDE, but DAMN was she competitive and talented.

Catchings next, for me.

I can't go w/ Moore yet, because I hate putting people in certain top spots NOW because of how they could finish TOMORROW.

- Coop

- Swoopes

- DT

- Leslie

- Catchings

Somewhere, Nancy and Cheryl rollin' over in their grave. Sorry, ladies.

I was a fan of hers too. She was a good scorer. I wondered what happened to her a few years ago and read she had a lot of injuries.

Cheryl Miller knocked my mom out of the NCAA Tournament   :smh: :smh:

As it stands right now, I would go with Cynthia Cooper as being the greatest of all time. What she did at SC this past year as a coach was awesome to see as well. Heard she's hard as hell though.

What's crazy is it when the league first started, Cynthia Cooper was not projected to be as good as what she became. She was incredible to watch live. I definitely thought Cappie Pondexter and Deanna Nolan were going to challenge as being all time greats but both of them just fell off :smh:

Diana and Maya though are primed to end up as probably the two best pro women ball players of all time when their careers are done.

This. I was about to mention them. Too bad the league came along so late. I agree with Coop being the best in WNBA history so far.
I thought Jackie Stiles was gonna be the goods, her college career was nice
I agree. Then she faded out and I stopped following her.

Yay! Glad to see there is a solid thread about the WNBA

I was young when the league started, but I watched a good amount. I just remember how good those Houston Comets teams were. Cooper, Swoops, Thompson
