I can't even think of the last time I was hyped for a official remix

Just Blaze summed it up a few years ago as to what happened with the artistry involved

I understand the purpose **** is still a shame tho

A lot of times ****** won't even bother with a new verse just tack on whoever the featured artist is after their part

Besides a few songs that have dropped here and there this concept is largely gone

Thread ain't a thread without me listing some of my favorite remixes tho

We Dem Boyz (Remix) is wavy right now :smokin

Some of my favorite Remixes:
Fabolous - Throw It In The Bag
Rick Ross - Super High (Spitta bodied this)
Big KRIT - Moon & Stars (Spitta bodied this too)
*****, Dont Kill My Vibe remix

all i can think of right now

Dont Like Remix was the last remix I was hyped for and it was two years ago.

I got tired of listening to remixes

The same people popped up on every remix  :smh:

I remember when Lil Wayne was on everybody ****. Had the radio on lock. I think the last remix I liked was the K.Dot and Jay z joint, but the radio played it so much I hate it now.

The radio stations philosophy is to make the listener
Love it, hate it, kill the person who made it

Basically. Everybody is so buddy buddy, which I think is more because people seem to be all signed under the same label then them actually liking each other. How many times can we here a generic Drake/Wa_n_/Meek Mill/Ross/Ace Hood/Tyga track, with them randomly placing Game/Bun B/Nas/Scarface on it to appease more lyrical heavy listeners? I'm pretty much saying DJ Khaled negated the need for a remix.

Special Deliver remix>

THIS.

I miss when the remix would have completely different production.

I actually prefer the original beat + more rappers on it then changing the whole beat. Special Delivery, Quiet Storm, Flava In Your Year, the 1st Poppin My Collar Remix, and some others can all attest to that. "We Dem Boyz" is the first remix with a beat change that I've liked in a looooong time.

That feeling when you bought a cassette single back in the days and the remix was more fire than the original :smokin

Yes!  Bought maaaad singles from the mall.

Loved those cassette singles.  They usually had the instrumental, radio edit, original and that remix was always a nice bonus.

Dudes brought up cassingles!

I don't mind same beat remixes, I Shot Ya, Ante Up....

Like Peep said, it just seemed to be the same supporting cast on most remixes and that's when it turned wack.

Bad Boy had that remix game on lock. Back then they switched every thing but kept the theme of the song the same.

They aren't remixes anymore, they just add a verse that ain't no damn remix. Let's get married is a real remix

Remixes are dead because every song is an unofficial remix. Way too many collabs going on. Rap music is seriously ****** right now. It's so damn awful. Tired of hearing the same few rappers do music with each other. I like remixes when they use the original beat or sometimes they tweak the original a little bit. I'm so mad I could never find the full explicit version of Black Rob's "Whoa Remix" That **** was hard as hell. Had like 10 people on it. Beanie, Dep, Rah D****. Damn :smh:

A few remixes I liked over the last few years.

Shawto Lo - Dey Know :x :x :x :x that lineup was stupid.

Plies - Shawty with Trey Songz and Pleasure P. Too cold.

Ray Cash - Bumpin My Music with Pimp C, TI and Project Pat.

Sheek Louch - Kiss Your *** Goodbye, Beanie on this one :wow:

TI - Top Down. My man BG on this one.

G. Dep - Special Delivery

NaS was one some nice remixes too. I like that Wiz tried to do an official remix but that **** is trash. Mad disappointed in him.

Damn, the remix has seriously died. Too many wack rappers today and too many fake industry friends :smh:

Yoooo....Top Back, Whoa, Bumpin My Music, Dey Know...those were :pimp: :pimp: I remember having the Whoa remix and it was like 6 minutes of pure heat  Da Brat, Cease, Petey Pablo and a bunch of other people.

Khaled really did kill the idea of the remix though. It was cool when he first came out, cause he was getting a bunch of different people together:

1. "Intro"
2. "Born-N-Raised" (featuring Pitbull, Trick Daddy and Rick Ross)
3. "Gangsta ****" (featuring Young Jeezy, Bun B, Slick Pulla and Blood Raw)
4. "Grammy Family" (featuring Kanye West, Consequence and John Legend)
5. "Problem" (featuring Beanie Sigel and Jadakiss)
6. "Holla at Me" (featuring Lil Wayne, Paul Wall, Fat Joe, Rick Ross and Pitbull)
7. "Addicted" (featuring Juelz Santana)
8. "Watch Out" (featuring Akon, Styles P, Fat Joe and Rick Ross)
9. "Destroy You" (featuring Krayzie Bone and Twista)
10. "Never Be Nothing Like Me" (featuring Lil' Scrappy and Homeboy)
11. "Candy Paint" (featuring Slim Thug, Trina and Chamillionaire)
12. "MIA" (featuring Lil Wayne)
13. "Where You At" (featuring Freeway and Clipse)
14. "Still Fly" (featuring Birdman and Chop)
16. "Movement" (featuring Dre)
17. "The Future of Dade" (featuring Brisco, Dirty Red, Dela, Lunch Money, Co, Hennessy and P.M.)

Now look at what it deteriorated to over the past few years

Not saying good songs aren't being made, but good lord, how many times can you shuffle around relatively the same cast mask it as something new??
