American journalist, James Foley, beheaded by ISIS

Use another country to fight a common enemy is just a very very basic tactic.

Thats why people are confused. The same enemies also use UD dollar as a reserve currency. lol

So when people get confused about US sponsoring who and who, they do not understand the bigger picture.

Russia and the US are on bad terms, so wouldnt it make sense to use the guys in the middle east to fight against the US?

SIMILAR reason why the US is funding Israel. Side with the stronger side and share a common goal.

Hate to say and see innocent lives lost, but I rather not see people.beheading one another for the sale of.humabity, which some cultures dont believe in.
I agree with you on the US and Russia being in shaky terms, especially with the Conflict in Ukraine going on. And I also agree with you on Russians taking the opportunity to get the US back in any way, shape, or form. But, I personally believe the main issue is still Sunni's trying to establish a partisan country that only supports their own. Yes the guns and equipment are brought from elsewhere and yes the their are sides being taking for self-interests but, I think this boils down to conflict that's been going on since the Muslims broke into to main sects. This goes beyond modern conflict between super-powers and economic goals, this goes back to Sunni's wanting another home and they are doing that in Syria and Iraq.

I agree, simply because they are ruthless. They have no problems killing women and children. Beheading individuals like its an achievement or sport is.disgusting.

To them, their religion is the sun, and the sky has only place for one! I suppose that is why most countries van only support thr innocent so much. The war is between them. Its not ours to fight. But I would love to see more air strikes in retaliation. I camnot.believe people can call this an agenda when its.clear the people kill their like its.second nature.

I too want us to carry out a **** load of air strikes and I hope the Kurds kick there *** and I hope the official Iraqi army stands their ground and I truly hope Iraq grows to support both Muslim faiths so their country can stabilize and they can gain tier citizens trust.

Arming the Kurds to the teeth would be one of the safer bets in the history of Middle Eastern foreign policy. They are tough as nails and wouldn't run like the COWARD Iraqi soldiers who **** in their pants, threw down their weapons and ran back when this ISIS conflict began, which allowed ISIS to gain momentum not to mention take all the weapons from the Iraqi soldiers. On top of that, the Kurds are not extremists. They even have female soldier battalions, which as you notice on the photo below aren't even wearing hijabs:

Please tell me that the info I read about him being captured and released a couple years ago prior to his second capture is untrue?????

the families interview after the fact

and like others have said on and off NT

you will have to fight me

but is it that an option though

RIP TO JAMES

question to my political famb...

Why are people giving them weapons to beat up on each other?

seems like the bigger countries are just fishbowling all of this...

giving them stuff to fight each other...

Then bigger countries slide in and take the resources...

is that how it's done?

Countries have a long history of trying to buy friend. Sometimes, we sell weapons to certain groups to keep them preoccupied from fighting us, sometimes it's to help against attacks from our enemies, sometimes, it's just to prevent them from allying with our enemies so our enemy doesn't gain more influence in a strategic location. In the case of ISIS, their goal is to take over the entire Middle East, which should make for some strange bed fellows since we may ally with Iran and Russia to defeat them since they want to take over their land too.

Typically when we sell other groups weapons though, we'll give them our old stuff so we always have the upper hand.

Regarding the resources... We were supposed to pay for the Iraq war with their oil. That never materialized, so we just have more debt to show for nothing.

This is crazy but I am no longer shocked

People getting heads chopped off for religion
People getting heads chopped off for drugs

Everywhere in the world there is a section of it were the craziest things just happen. Kinda hate the internet for exposing me to things like that but the more you know right

seems legit.

Now can you tell me WHY ISIS is so hype about taking over the Middle East?

For money? Or just to say they did it?

Sorry for not being up to date, but every time I try to read on this, I get some convoluted explanation, or people talking about a million other things than the question at hand.

Journalist Steven Sotloff was executed in their latest video.
supposedly by the same guy that killed Foley as well...apparently opened up his monologue by saying "im back"

heard IS would psychologically torture their captives by "staging" executions...they would set up everything as if they were going to go through with it, give their speeches, have the captives read their part, but stop suddenly in order to shatter the nerves of those they have done this to...would do this on a regular basis

I'm sure people will throw out excuses, some moral relativism garbage, or other reasons. But the fact is you shouldn't look for a logical reason. Islamic jihadism doesn't need logic.

Been happening in Africa for the longest.

Give money and weapons to groups to overthrow governments so they can place who they want. Like clockwork

I've heard they're trying to recapture much of the land Mohammad did during his original crusade through the Middle East, North Africa, & Europe (Spain & the east block) and that he claims to be a direct descendant of Mohammad. Whatever the case, he's pissing off a lot of people on both sides, which is never a good way to stay in power (or alive).
