What's going on NT?

I'm looking to buy a purebred puppy (Chocolate Lab to be exact) and I'm having a little trouble.

I'm not looking to support a puppy mill, so it has become pretty difficuly. I've tried adopting a dog, but I've sent over 30 applications to different places more than a month ago, and no word yet.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Where are you located? I always thought it was pretty easy to locate specific dog breeders.

I would go to rescue shelters and see what you can pickup. That's what my family always did.

Yea, I've wanted to do that, but I'm not gonna lie, I would want to raise a puppy. I've never had a dog before, so the experience of seeing it grow is important to me.

But is it common for  most rescue shelters to have labs available? And correct me if I'm wrong, but don't these dogs come with serious problems, or not all?

I previously worked at a company that matched dog breeders and customers... I would highly recommend going to a shelter to get a puppy or a rescue.

Good breeders who actually care about their dogs vs profit are few and far between.

Most states have specific rescues by breed by area i.e. South Florida Lab Rescue.

We rescued two and we had no issues. One was a 2 year old poodle that went through two homes before we received him. He was a bit resistant and you couldn't do certain things with him but once he understood that we weren't trying to hurt him he has been fine. He's 11 now. The other we adopted about 5 months ago and she was left by and owner after he was hospitalized for a few days. He didn't return for a few months and so after those 3 days the landlord of the house rescued the dog and gave her to a rescue shelter. We actually saved her life because she was about to be put down, a purebred schnauzer of about 3 years. She is fine as well. I hate supporting puppy mills and a lot of dogs just need a good home. Too many people become dog owners without understanding what it means. Not to mention they have their own issues that they end up taking out on the dogs.

I've tried to adopt, but for some reason, they never reply to my applications.
