Also, Top 5 is doing good critically. With Kevin Hart hiring every black person in Hollywood for his show, along with this film doing good critically and hopefully financially, this could be the start of more films and shows with black casts.

Nobody slanders his business and how he gives black folks jobs. Some people don't like his movies. I honestly don't like most except a few. Not really my cup of tea but his character in Gone Girl was

I think there's progress amongst the 18-30 crowd but there's still a long way to go. We pass it along to our kids then maybe the future will be a lil bit brighter. Hopefully I'll be around to see it but who knows. Takes time to change history

Top 5 was awesome. Highly recommended, and it felt good to support a black film. He really tried to get as many black actors in it as possible.

18-30 crowd in 84 was smoking crack so just off that this generation is doing better
to me it seems like a lot of young black folks are more woke to **** and doing things to bring improvement. Obviously there's still a lot lost hence me saying I probably won't be alive to see its completion

Top 5 was AMAZING in every aspect. It was a movie that i can honestly say would NEVER be approved by a huge studio and i'm glad he had a chance to make it. It's edgy it touches on real issues in the world today, & everything about it just seems natural and not forced which is what i was worried about with all the different people in it.
It's just a relatable film and the characters are extremely authentic, even the small details of the movie include things that are extremely relevant today.
The film touches on reality TV, Alcoholism, family issues, black comedians being put in a box. Just a great film overall

(I fall in that age bracket myself) I just see a people so consumed with the entertainment, the consumerism, the politically correct angle.
And I'm not sure if it's been posted in here, and if so I'm sorry for the redundancy....but has anyone seen the doc titled "Concerning Violence"? It's narrated by Lauren Hill. If not seen, definitely check it out.

Just came back from seeing Top 5. It was a great film. Easily the best film Chris has been in. I could see how a lot of comedians or even actors relate to the premise of the film. It must suck being famous or well known for one thing and never being able to escape it. It also touches upon other things that I didn't expect the film to tackle. It was a really smart comedy. All of the cameos were great as well; I don't feel like any of them were wasted. But yeah, great film, I'd give it a 4 / 5.
Also, and maybe I'm reaching, but when Gabrielle's character was on the phone with him at the end of the film, I can't be the only person who thought all that she said was a shot at Kim K. It just had to be

Problem with having a black panther party today is that their original goal is never told. Folks make them out to be some "**** white people" group which they never were
They were monitoring their neighborhoods to prevent police from wrong doings. They also pushed black folks to be armed.
I hate how they're made out to be by folks these days. It's why I never cared for the new black panther party. It's a slap in Huey newtons face.
Also I damn near walked out the butler movie when I saw how they portrayed them.

The #MillionMarch in NYC was a beautiful site indeed. It was reported that crowds reached as much as 50-60K. These are pics i found on twitter gonna come back with pics of the crowd that overtook BK Bridge & the rest of Brooklyn for that matter.
I attended this to get a real feeling on just how pissed people are about the matters we ar facing against the police. The initial Protest which started in Washington Sq Park up to 34th & then back to Police Plaza were great, However it wasn't a true capture of the mood people were in. That crowd had infants, Older people, and the cops had direct control of the Entire March.
However when that crowd dispersed And it hit Night time, the Protest made me even more proud because it was particularly the younger generation (Mixed with All colors) that showed NYPD that we are FED up. they told us the protest was done and to go home. The reaction was a few thousand people shutting down the BK Bridge in Both directions, Shutting down Fulton St, Shutting down Eastern Parkway, Shutting down the Area around Barclays, And then literally making a 30 Mile march around BK letting every neighborhood know, every police station know, that this isn't a problem that just going to be swept away.
I have NEVER seen such unity between young people of so many different races, purely controlled by the young and moving completely in Sync with one another over one message. We literally marched from BK Bridge to Pink houses projects to the very building Akai Gurley was killed in. We brought a couple thousand people Directly to the precinct that Killed him and made them watch as a direct member of his family showed how she's been affected.
